NB 2 hours long

I was really looking forward to this, but started watching too late and not realising it was 2 hours long.

Not sure how many detective series they can make where the main character has some sort of personality or personal problem!

But if anyone else watched it, can you explain the plot? Blush

I did rewind a couple of times but just could quite grasp it!

ooops - just could NOT quite grasp it!

It’s on my planner. Haven’t seen yet

stumbledin · 01/03/2020 15:20

Well still hoping someone can explain when and if they do watch it!

What didn’t you get ? Seen now

stumbledin · 01/03/2020 23:12

Oh dear, should have made notes!

Towards the end I am sure someone in the police talked about a "familial" link. I assumed between the lost boy and who ???

And was the boy's father somehow implicated or just a totally unpleasant person.

Part of the problem was for most of it the sound was fine, but in a couple of places it was as though the characters were whispering or mumbling and it caught me out.

But I think as usual I got a bit side tracked by sub plots. In this instance the main character having this (temporary?) amnesia.

Thanks for any clarification. Smile

Car accident something is dodgy with ALEX. And his death. Whether her fault or the daughter Ruby's as she deleted messsges on mums phone for some reason

She also has lots of unknown numbers on her phone which she asked one of her team to find out who they are - one was a voicemail about Nathan

So she ordered his case files from 5yrs ago day before her accident

One dog hair belonging to Billy's dog was found on the bag pack - another copper had hair on his suit which he tested and was the same

Billy also drove the bus instead of bus driver as he was found another ad hoc job. Didn't think to mention it as Nathan went missing. Later that day

Nathan's dad imo is dodgy - he lied 5yrs ago when he last saw him - not sure why tbh - possibly guilt over what he said to him

But I don't think he was in on it

Hope that clears it up

stumbledin · 02/03/2020 23:48

Yes - a bit. I think there was too much going on and I started watching it too late.

And maybe in the next episode some of the strange family relationships will become clear.

Maybe my thinking the missing boy's father was dodgy was in fact his guilt about punishing him and not realising he was being bullied.

Many thanks.

Will try harder next time!

(I did quite enjoy it - some lovely countryside)

Was going to watch last night but 9-11 too late for me

stumbledin · 05/03/2020 12:51

I did watch last night (I record so if I fall asleep I can rewind)

Found this one easier to follow though am irritated by the main character. One day they will make a crime series were the chief detective has an ordinary family life, and it contrast with the horrors of the crimes.

Beautiful scenery (a lot of rain) but not as generally miserable as Hidden.

Not a lot happened in E2 imo

Tho still think ruby has secrets And preg

stumbledin · 12/03/2020 14:00

I thought that episode 2 in terms of detecting was easier to follow and just found the personal story of the detective a bit tedious.

But watched episode 3 last night and it seems Blondeshavemore fun was correctly alert to the character of Alex.

So now I'm irritated with myself for not having picked up on the indiciations.

Though did always suspect the retired detective was not quite as good as he was said to be.

From the announcement at the end does this mean there are no more episodes.

Overall I thought it was okay, though many of the plot lines have been used in other series. But then maybe this reflects the reality of the crime world.
