Damian and Giannina. What a fuck up. I couldn’t live with her though. She is seriously hard work.

Oh @damntheman I actually thought you said previously you recognised it because you had suffered some kind of DV so I do apologise for getting that wrong!

Basically, I just feel like maybe people who have watched this want to come in and gabber about this trashy show for escaping the usually day to day mentalities and maybe they have suffered DV and maybe they just don't want to be reminded of it. There could be a separate thread started in relationships about it to discuss it properly but maybe this thread could just be about the gossiping.

How odd that MN is currently a place where posters trash women, make racist comments about their names and fall over themselves to defend dubious behaviour from men.
I've yet to see the people trashing J or G all over social media being told to be kind.
Yet a few posters on here question D's behaviour and get lectured by posters who are happily tearing the female contestants apart. Or maybe it's only women who are asked to be kind to men. Wait a minute, there's a name for that ....

I can't believe how many of them went along with (presumably) the producers diktat that their final decision be shared at the alter. Surely they had days to tell their other half that they weren't going to marry them in private.

(Jessica's delight when Mark said 'yes' persuaded me that there was no way she was about to say 'no').

Roll on March 5th for the reunion.

Totally agree with you. I hadn’t commented on here yet because it was bogged down with debate about Damien and giannina, who was abusing who.

How much of this do we think is scripted/prompted by the producers?

I'm sure that they suggest things for people to say, and ask specific questions so that they can get soundbites to edit. e.g. asking Amber if she had any debt, but not including info about Barnet. Student debt of $100k or more is not unusual, so Amber's situation is quite normal, even for people who don't finish college.

I bet the producers wanted a mix of likely to get married, maybe and definitely not, so they picked 6 couples who would cover all those possibilities. Bear in mind it's a fake wedding for the cameras, so that people could say yes then just try living together to see how it went.

What I'm most surprised about is how well they kept it quiet. It's been so long since they started filming. I'm sure there are plenty of follow-ups ready to go.

@bugbhaer there was a suspicion that getting to the actual ceremony might have been financially incentivised hence the final couples actually made it that far.

I found the finale show a bit flat to be honest, or perhaps it was that the outcomes were fairly predictable:
GG & D having a row (although I thought she would say no, no he)
Kelly and Kenny she just didn't have an ounce of lust for him, doomed!
Amber and Barnett went as I thought...she looked like a young Sandra Bullock on the day I thought
Jessica and Mark...surprise surprise....Mark simpered and whimpered, she enjoyed her skip down the aisle as a bride and then did exactly what we knew she would (clearly the 'knarly' sex wasn't great enough to spark that fire!)
Lauren and Cameron HURRAH! The whole show kind of lifted...ooh lets have happy music, the make up team etc actually looked pleased like yes, here is a bride with a bit of oomph!

I actually thought they all looked gorgeous, the dresses were beautiful, the make up was on point, Jessica and Mark's mum had similar messy big buns

I just want to see the after show now to find out what's happened since then as I do like these social experiment type shows (which sounds evil given they aren't overall that successful...just look at married at first sight!).

Barnett has finally had a hair cut!!!!!

Ah Lauren and Cameron were so lovely. I'm really glad they both said yes.
G was straight up nuts.
I was surprised that Barnet said yes. Amber was like 'I want 3 kids, have loads of debt and want to be a stay at home mum so I hope you can support me' I think he could have been forgiven for running.

I think they may well end up making a lot of money off the back of this anyway and her IG shows she’s done some modelling in the past so I’m sure she’ll maximise on her exposure!

There will have been constant make up and clothing touch ups between filming so someone will have cleaned her dress.

I’m on the weddings. For some reason I dH fount it was one big wedding but it looks like the same venue so maybe back to back?

Anyway Damien and Gigi - I thought he was horrible to blame her for not being ready when he was the one saying no and then, as she was understandably upset, saying this is how she gets... of course she was upset

He dismisses what she says, makes it about something else or just doesnt listen to her. I. One episode she was like “you’re not letting me speak!” and he wasn’t. Then the bar conversation about how she needed to change and also seemed surprised she wouldn’t change her political views. While he jilted her he was saying how it’s her fault and she’s not ready and he wants to be someone who is in it. Then when she was upset he was saying this is how you are kinda thing... but seemed to think they might still have a future.

Apparently they’re still together. Two marriages and one long term relationship is pretty decent!

It looks like D&G have a good relationship now (there is an entertainment tonight interview with them on YouTube where they look totally loved up and respectful of each other).
