Bing on CBeebies is creepy

My little one is two next month and adores CBeebies so I find myself watching it ever day with her. Most shows I love and find absolutely adorable. However Bing creeps me out! Am I the only one? It's a world of children being raised by creepy little voodoo dolls with not one parent in sight LOL. Where did the parents go? Why are creepy voodoo dolls parenting these poor kids?

You're really on the tip of the chasm if weirdness. Have you seen Moon Baby and Collywobbles?

Apparently the parents are small because of the child's egocentric view of the universe. I prefer to think they're post apocalyptic genetic experiments being raised to defeat the alien invaders

That show is the stuff nightmares are made of. I'm generally cleaning up the house and getting things sorted for the night when it's on...which I'm glad for. That little clown doll thing looks like he will eat your soul.

My son calls him 'Mardy Bing'. He's 2.

SleepingStandingUp · 26/02/2020 17:21

That's EXACTLY what I said Jess. He's sook a soul water.

There's a cracking episode, where Bing is playing with a butterfly and accidentally crushes it to death in his hands. They then bury it and paint pictures of butterflies to hang over its grave...

My two year old was completely unmoved by this, but my husband and I sat there going "what the fuck just happened???"😂

MsJuniper · 26/02/2020 18:02

Fun fact: Collywobble aka the little clown doll is female.

Kanga83 · 26/02/2020 19:02

Collywobble is a freaky little shit. My husband says it's the love child of IT and Uppsydaisy. Bing is a bunny version of my oh so whiney 3 year old.

i have had many sleepless nights reading about bing theories

SleepingStandingUp · 26/02/2020 19:05

Yup. Kls

Never mind Bing - why does Pando take off his trousers and run around the park in his under crackers in the opening credits? I didn't notice this until my friend pointed it out and now I can't escape it!

IDontDrinkTea · 26/02/2020 19:21

I read a theory somewhere (let’s be honest, probably on Mumsnet) about how Bing is set in purgatory, and Flop, Amma and Paget are tortured souls, required to stay and care for such irritating, self-centred twats animals like Bing until they’ve paid for their sins

Fridakahlofan · 26/02/2020 19:41

On Bing... Rather than parents they are supposed to be generic carer figures to make those without a mum/dad feel less left out. I like Bing!

Blondeshavemorefun · 26/02/2020 20:40

They are like carers /Nannies

Think was told ant like creature

Bing is a winey brat but my toddler Adores him

And don’t get me started on peppa pig

Babypug · 26/02/2020 20:44

If it ever comes on it gets turned over - weird little fucker! Much better shows to watch and also his voice?! How it rating!

Whatsbrownandsticky · 26/02/2020 20:48

I read a thread (was it here) about how annoying Bing was, and the creator came on and said to give Bing another try and it'll get better.
New episodes started this year and Bing really is a lot less whiny in those. DH still won't let the toddler watch him.
