He pisses off to jersey for his stag and she ends up in a snooker hall for her hen do and local shite bar with £100 behind it for 15 people Shock

I know. And he's totally punching.

Why is she marrying him?

SouthWestmom · 24/02/2020 20:20

The thing with this programme though is it’s largely fake and pre-conceived. For starters when you’re planning a wedding you have to register your intent to marry which involves telling the registrar WHERE you plan to marry at least 12 weeks beforehand. So the way they make it look like it’s all arranged in 2 weeks is totally fake. Also the whole premise of the programme is to make it as shocking as possible. The producers aren’t interested in a lovely, tasteful wedding somewhere where the groom buys the perfect dress/books the perfect venue etc. The couples on this programme just want to be on tv imo. And the grooms are always a certain “type” aren’t they? (What dh and I call “FHM blokes”)

It makes good entertainment though!

BigSandyBalls2015 · 24/02/2020 20:30

Those dresses Shock

SouthWestmom · 24/02/2020 20:37

Don't marry him!!!!

LadyContrary · 24/02/2020 20:38

“It gives you a lovely shape” Grin she really tried there, didn’t she?

theluckiest · 24/02/2020 20:38

That dress hurts my eyes with its hideousness Shock

BigSandyBalls2015 · 24/02/2020 20:38

Grinbless her! Trying so hard!

The sister needs to stop though, she's taking it way too personally. The dress is vile. Anna should go on Tinder and see the other options I think.

BigSandyBalls2015 · 24/02/2020 20:46

Why didn’t the mum go with him to get a new dress and the best mate/sister

OP posts:
theluckiest · 24/02/2020 20:53

The blue trainers he'd packed seem to have vanished too.

Replaced by hideous white sandals

dillite · 24/02/2020 21:49

He is absolutely vile. I know that it's all scripted, but come the fuck on!

Toddlerteaplease · 24/02/2020 23:15

I don't think the weddings are actually legally binding, for the reasons a PP mentioned above.

Ellmau · 24/02/2020 23:17

The grooms always seem to be hopeless manchildren.

Nekoness · 24/02/2020 23:24

This one was just sad. You can see the shite the producers were putting everyone through on this one. The disgusting way they made the family coerce the bride to try on a hideous dress on camera for the world to see... you can see the pressure and threats they put on his sister... the shit they egged him on to say on camera to the MIL and sister on camera... the way they wouldn’t allow them to buy a dress... it had to somehow be part of budget and the only way to get around the legal contract was for the MIL to gift back the airline/hotel money so they could buy another dress.

Disgusting production.

This was the saddest one I’ve seen, where you saw the shit producers created for the poor couple. I felt so sorry for all the families. Horrible episode.

Franklymydearidontgiveadam · 24/02/2020 23:30

The DTTB Ireland is much nicer to watch. The weddings are often lovely.

It's worse since e4 have taken over.

Cherrypie32 · 25/02/2020 07:10

DTTB in its original form was fab! Genuinely they got married and they filmed slightly less ordinary weddings where the couples truly had control. Now its just sensational tosh for ratings, ‘let’s say our vows in front of our neighbour whilst riding a camel backwards through Blackburn’ etc etc

Franklymydearidontgiveadam · 25/02/2020 07:52

Yep or let's get married in the hospital ward where you had your tonsils out at the age of 6.

SouthWestmom · 25/02/2020 08:44

Yes they do that with everything - Big Brother was great when it was just normal people, then it became weird contestants and nasty challenges.

Ellmau · 25/02/2020 09:09

The worst one was the groom who had an Oktoberfest wedding for his bride who hated beer, and dressed everyone in dirndls. Awful. I think she went through with the fake TV ceremony but declined to make it legal subsequently and dumped him.

I actually thought this guy was trying his best to please his bride with paying tribute to her roots (and in the end she did appreciate that I think) but misguided, until he was such a over refusing to change the dress. (Although I suspect it could be in the contract that they have to spend the whole budget, not supplement it, and not have any contingency money).

Agree the earlier ones were nicer.
