I've got a one year old and am working a lot around him. When I have an hour in the evening before I fall asleep I like to watch something light and easy but I feel like I've exhausted the obvious stuff! Can you help?!

I've watched
Sabrina, discovery of witches, outlander, good place, marvellous Mrs maisel, lucifer, altered carbon, I zombie, santa clarita diet

.... What can you recommend? (I have Netflix, prime and now TV)

Being Human on Netflix is fab. A vampire, a ghost and a werewolf share a house...

Aidan Turner plays the vampire, Russell Tovey the werewolf. Watch out for the scene where Aidan Turner ends up washing up - had me crying with laughter.

Supernatural itself is on Prime - that'll keep you going, forever.

TheOnlyLivingBoyInNewCross · 24/02/2020 20:22

The Last Kingdom on Netflix is brilliant. And have you watched The Vampire Diaries, also on Netflix?

muddledmidget · 24/02/2020 20:32

Being Human was great, and also Ghosts on iplayer. It's made by the same people as Horrible Histories it definitely for adults and made me laugh out loud quite a lot

doadeer · 24/02/2020 20:33

Oh yes I've watched the last Kingdom - I've read the books actually too!

I never watched supernatural first time around so thah a good shout. I can't remember where I got with vampire diaries years ago but yes I'll try that again!

I watched being human a few years ago I think!

It sounds like you enjoy similar TV to me. I have lots of days where I am not well enough to get out so spend a lot of time watching random stuff while crocheting or knitting.

The outsider, on nowtv. It's based on the Stephen King book. I've only watched a few episodes so far, but am enjoying it. I think Lost girl is on there too, that's entertaining. Penny Dreadful is excellent.

The Magicians on prime. It's kind of like if the Sci-fi channel made an adult version of Harry Potter. It is easy to watch fun. Good Omens also on prime, based on the brilliant Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman book, its really very good. David Tennant as the demon Cowley, and Michael Sheen as the angel Aziraphale. The Boys about corrupt superheroes is also a good watch, so is Preacher and Swamp thing.

Umbrella Academy, Stranger things, and Jessica Jones on Netflix are all really good, Grimm is good fun too.

LittleLebowski · 25/02/2020 17:02

Crowleys Do you not find The Outsider really scary?! I've only got a few episodes to go and it's pretty much the only thing I don't threaten to watch by myself if the other half is out because I'm too frightened!

doadeer · 25/02/2020 17:04

Oh yikes! Is it scary? Is that the one with that guy from North and South and the baddie from Robin Hood - what's his name again?

doadeer · 25/02/2020 17:05

Oooh I just saw new series of altered carbon next week! I liked the concept

LittleLebowski · 25/02/2020 17:32

Could be just me, but I wouldn't call it light viewing! It's got Jason Bateman and Ben Mendelsohn who was the baddie in Rogue One? Very well done, but freaks me out. Mind you, I thought Outlander would be light viewing and remember being really shocked by the first season!
I've just finished Locke and Key, which was surprisingly good in the Stranger Things line and more light-hearted, but with enough teeth to make it OK. You, Dead to Me and Living with Yourself were enjoyable. I think Prime has all the Buffy/Angel back catalogue.

doadeer · 25/02/2020 17:53

Oh my word the first season of outlander was absolutely traumatic. They were horrible bits when they went to France as well.

It's definitely a bit creepy, I have quite a high threshold for creepy/scary though. The other things I've recommended aren't at all creepy or scary though, with the possible exception of penny dreadful which might be a bit.

I have seen Locke and Key and I enjoyed that too, according to DS the comics are quite good. I don't know if what we do in the shadows is still available on iplayer, but that's really good too, it's a spoof comedy documentary series following some vampires that share a house, it's a spin off from the Taika Waititi film. It's very funny.

iibdii · 07/03/2020 07:00

Sense8
