I though that you register and apply . I did not know they contact you first based on your Instagram account etc..

Wasn't it said that out of the 1000s of applicants last year, only 2 came via the application process and almost all were personally approached.

They very much are aiming for a certain look

No one overweight, no one who isn't into their appearance, no one LGBT, no one disabled

It used to be that ppl applied, but @EineReiseDurchDieZeit is right - almost all of them are found by the show through their social media. Bit shit as they end up being a homogenous group with the same insta look. But I guess it saves them £ on auditioning.

I think there's now a link between a clothing company and the series.

In that case it would be wise to choose contestants who already had a substantial following on Instagram.

I thought quite a few of them had been scouted, someone mentioned a while ago there was a place that quite a few had been picked up/out from. But to be honest it's the same for x factor/voice etc now, a lot of them are 'invited' to apply rather than the people who actually fill in a form etc.
