Well, I definitely recommend this. Right up my street! I expected to not really like it, but loved it instead. Very stranger things like. Bring on season 2.

OP posts:

I am halfway through episode 2, really enjoying it so far. Must admit, I love a 'spooky' house story!

Alone07 · 10/02/2020 17:37

I thought it was really good, loved the ending.

Pinkbonbon · 10/02/2020 18:14

Kept my attention the whole way through. Really enjoyed it. Love the actor that plays the daughters dark haired love interest.

Also, I couldn't find it anywhere but does anyone know who plays the uncle? (Assuming he's the uncle. The guy that first shows them the house). I've seen him in something before but can't remember what and the actors name doesn't seem to be on the IMDb for the show.

MyfanwyMontez · 10/02/2020 18:19

Pinkbonbon
I watched this with my sister and she said the guy who plays the uncle was in The Following, she says he played the cop.

MyfanwyMontez · 10/02/2020 18:25

My mistake , on googling his name is Aaron Ashmore. His twin appeared in The Following.

inthekitchensink · 10/02/2020 18:39

I’m unsure about it, it doesn’t seem to know what it is - teeny, horror, cheesy, tongue in cheek, it’s all too contrived so far. But you’ve convinced me to keep going

phlebasconsidered · 11/02/2020 19:19

It's come at the perfect time for me - daughter is getting older and Amazon have stopped making Just Add Magic and Gortimer Gibbons so this fits the bill perfectly for teen mum and daughter viewing. My son rates the comics and I must get round to them.

mrwalkensir · 11/02/2020 21:45

first thing that I've watched over a weekend - good fun

Dennisreynoldsduster · 13/02/2020 17:14

Just started it, like it more than I expected to so far!

EineReiseDurchDieZeit · 13/02/2020 17:17

I enjoyed it and watched it all but it had a more deliberately "teen" feel than I liked, compared to say Stranger Things that has always had universal appeal.

I did like the fact that it was more realistic about the capabilities and attitudes of teens than Stranger Things

Dennisreynoldsduster · 13/02/2020 18:32

I’m planning to binge watch the rest tonight when I’m up with DS... so he will
Probably sleep through now!

notanotherjigsawpiece · 14/02/2020 19:42

I expected to hate it but I’m really enjoying it! We’ve watched 3 episodes so far.

petrocellihouse · 14/02/2020 19:47

Binge watching that and alternating with Castle Rock which is just amazing!

Enjoying it far more than I thought I would too. There is a lot going on plot wise and it's menacing enough to take seriously, so has successfully replaced Sabrina as a series we can watch as a family and all like.
Was flabbergasted and made to feel ancient from the outset on finding out that Kinsey is Aled Jones's daughter. When your memory of someone is as a prepubescent soloist, it's weird!

Samcro · 19/02/2020 06:51

i have asked for my post to be deleted as its a spoiler. we need a spoiler thread. I need to talk about it all.

Girliefriendlikespuppies · 20/02/2020 22:36

I did not know that about Kinsey 🤯 do they live in America?!

My teen dd and I binge watched this over the last few nights, both really enjoyed it. There's a definite Stranger Things vibe which isn't a bad thing.

LittleLebowski · 25/02/2020 15:21

Not sure if they have moved to the States, but it's certainly a good role for her (she's 17) a bit like Millie Bobbie Brown in Stranger Things. Agree there is definitely that vibe to the show.
Well I really enjoyed the finale! Really didn't have high hopes for the series, but I enjoyed it and it's been set up well for season 2. It's nice to be able to have something to watch with the kids enthusiastically for a change.

SebandAlice · 25/02/2020 20:06

Fab as I came on here to find something to watch. For some reason I thought it might be a children’s series as I get more recommendations for my dc. Going to watch it now.

Hadenoughofitall441 · 06/03/2020 19:04

I went into it thinking it was like a children’s mystery (I hadn’t seen the rating) how wrong was I. Every episode had me on the edge of my seat. I watched all 10 episodes in one day. It reminded me of under the dome a little but with a lot more patazz 😊will defo be watching the next season if it’s renewed, I hope it is... they can not leave it how they left it.

Hadenoughofitall441 · 06/03/2020 19:07

@Pinkbonbon the guy that plays the uncle is called Aaron ashmore, he’s a twin, his brother Shawn has been in more things. @MyfanwyMontez Shawn is the one from the following, 😊 Aaron was in smallville.

lenamama · 06/03/2020 19:13

Loved it too! Binge watched it and look forward to Season 2!! Castle Rock is brill too.
