Bluntness I don’t disagree that she saw things that weren’t there or fooled herself into thinking were there and he was just not affection etc. And yes I think she does this all the time, she goes for the wrong type and ends up disappointed and heartbroken.

But I think it matters if he keeps pulling her, then he’s the one that can’t let it lie. He wants her forgiveness because he feels shit, and he feels shit because he knows he should have mentioned somewhere along the way that he wasn’t that into her. He shouldn’t have been parroting her words to Rebecca if he didn’t feel them.
