who else is loving it?

OP posts:
AiryFairy1 · 04/02/2020 15:55

Me! I’ve only watched 2 eps (after seeing Jennifer Saunders on Graham Norton) but I’m hooked!

Nanamilly · 04/02/2020 15:55

I switched it off half way through episode one. It didn't appeal to me.

TheWomanTheyCallJayne · 04/02/2020 15:57

There’s another thread about. I’m part way through. I’m following what’s happening but also have no idea what’s going on. Weird state of affairs.

LoseLooseLucy · 04/02/2020 16:06

I was bored of it half way through episode 1, stuck with it and really enjoyed the series, I finished it yesterday.

NoMorePoliticsPlease · 04/02/2020 16:11

I am persevering but I absolutely hate that is is so obviously based on an American novel. So many things are badly swtched to and English setting. I am only watching because I have only one episode to go to pull it together but id is pretty bad. Shame as some decent actors in it

Bluntness100 · 04/02/2020 16:13

I'm really enjoying it too. I felt it got a bit complex at one point, but now I'm very into it. I'm a few episodes in.

I've read the book, Harlan Coben is a brilliant author, I love his books, but I can't recall what happens in this one. I just remember it due to the pregnant lady, for some reason it has stuck in my mind.

Kenworthington · 04/02/2020 16:16

We are watching it. I’m not loving it tbh but dh is. I am weirdly distracted by two things. The policewomans hair which is nice and the lovely apartment. Also nice.

mrsed1987 · 04/02/2020 16:19

Just finished it and was disapointed with the ending tbh!

KnifeAngel · 05/02/2020 14:21

Wow I can't believe those not enjoying it. I watched it all at the weekend. It's the best thing I have watched for ages. I am telling everyone to watch it.

LoseLooseLucy · 05/02/2020 16:16

Haha I've told everyone to watch it too Grin

BarkandCheese · 05/02/2020 16:24

I’ve just seen the first episode, I’m intrigued enough to watch the next one at least. However I’ve read books by and watched adaptations of Harlan Coban before and they’re all more or less the same. Lots of characters with what on the face of it seem to interesting secrets, which when explained turn out to be somewhat unlikely or rather contrived things forced together to make a plot. Once you’ve seen the formula you can’t unsee it.

coconuttelegraph · 05/02/2020 16:44

Netflix must be loving this, there seem to be loads of threads about this programme. I think I posted on one of the other ones or many more than one that I was enjoying it but I found the end a bit of a damp squib and it kind of lost the plot imo.

Still very watchable though

Fleurdebleurgh · 05/02/2020 16:51

Watched the whole series over two days. Thought it was rather crap tbhHmm Too many storylines going on that go nowhere

thecatneuterer · 05/02/2020 20:01

The policewomans hair Haha. I've been distracted by it too. It's lovely and I've been wondering if it would suit me, but I've a feeling it takes a lot of time and effort to get it looking so 'natural' and on me, without the time and effort, it would look shit.

Wrigleys123 · 05/02/2020 22:23

I'm not enjoying it, seems like its trying to be something it's not! Not sure if that makes any sense!

MrsAJ27 · 05/02/2020 22:39

Finished it in 2 days...loved it

ItsLateHumpty · 06/02/2020 00:40

Well, I've just added it to my list so I hope the hype is right. I'll keep a lookout for the hair Grin

BitOfFun · 06/02/2020 01:00

I'm on episode six of eight right now, and fear I may be up late...

EnidBlyton · 06/02/2020 07:15

Just seen two episodes, Very much enjoyed so far

dayswithaY · 06/02/2020 07:49

I am enjoying it but agree with posters who say that Harlan Corben plots always follow the same path. Lots of seemingly average people living in stunning houses, dark secrets that they are desperate to hide, affairs, money troubles, etc. Then the most unlikely character of all turns out to have murdered someone and covered it up (not a spoiler as I haven't seen the whole series). They are very well done but do follow a pattern - throw together lots of complicated plot lines and see which one sticks. You're always left with more questions than answers.

I had to laugh when Jennifer Saunders' character was desperate to cover up her daughter being on a Sugar Daddies website. Seriously, who would care? You see worse than that on Instagram! It would hardly ruin her life. It's a bit like watching Dynasty in the 80s - fabulous clothes and houses but it's basically enjoyable fluffy nonsense.

QueenOfTheAndals · 06/02/2020 11:51

Watched the last episode last night and WTF?
