Anyone else watched this? I wasn't sure what to expect, but I really enjoyed it and think she came across very well!

I really enjoyed it. I remember the whole Kimye drama and really felt for her being totally bullied online like that. She came across well and is insanely talented!

I cant bring myself to watch her on anything, no matter how positive the message is she is sending. I cannot bide the woman.

DesLynamsMoustache · 04/02/2020 11:44

I'd forgotten how horrible that Kayne on-stage thing was, and how young she was at the time too.

I was amazed by her talent too and found it quite amusing that when she turned up to 'collaborate' with all the men, they basically just nodded and agreed with everything she said as she already had the song pretty much written!

I liked it, she came across as hard-working and talented, though it almost certainly was cut in a way to make it look like she came up with the perfect idea instantly, I'm sure more work than that goes into it all. I thought she came across as coping well with all the hatred she gets- why do people care so much, just don't listen to her music if you don't like it.

Haven't watched it yet, but I caught her Reputation tour documentary on Netflix last year and it totally changed my opinion about her. She's one of the few artists who seems to genuinely connect with and respect her fans.

Yes, she's a rich girl who had a lot handed to her, but she took it and ran with it. I think her fame and money cosseted her from the real world for a long time - but her suit against the DJ for sex assault, her fight for control of her original recordings, and her recent political awakenings show an adult woman coming into her own. She ain't perfect, but men aren't expected to be.

And OMFG, that's more than I've ever talked about Taylor Swift in my life and probably ever will again. Grin

I Love Taylor... but I do miss old Country Taylor at times! Grin one of her most recent songs is just soooo good!!!

I loved the programme. I love Taylor and her music anyway but was pleasantly surprised by the apparent reality of this. I know it was edited to show her in the best light, but there were moments that showed things happening that she may well have not wanted put out for all to see. I have a lot of respect for her political stance and was so glad she stood up for her beliefs when all the (older) men were telling her not to. I’d also forgotten how long ago the Kanye thing happened and how young she was, well done to her for moving on while he appears to have crawled so far up his own rear he’s lost all sense.

As an aside, which muppet served dinner before takeoff? Turns out flying private when you’re a multimillionaire pop star is full of risk 😂😂😂 and the cat carrier backpack was just awesome!

I absolutely love me a bit of Taylor and I loved the documentary. She comes across as intelligent and articulate as well as multi talented . Even if she is as calculating as her critics say, then bring it on - there are far more hideous characteristics than that.
I see her as a blonde version of Megan and Jameela for being attacked for being smug and a bunch of other things that no one can really explain Hmm.

I'm in my mid forties and an unashamed Swifty Grin

I loved the documentary, felt so sorry for her having to endure that level of vitriol online and in the press, it must have been awful. But mostly I just live her music, I think she's super talented and fair play to her for carving out a successful career. Would like to see her find love, she seemed quite lonely to me.

beguilingeyes · 11/02/2020 14:35

I keep watching that bit of her surprising Shaun Dooley on that BBC Children in Need thing. Such a lovely thing.

BobbyBlueCat · 17/02/2020 12:34

@LifeInAHamsterWheel she has a longterm boyfriend. Just doesn't court publicity about it like a lot of other celebrities.

LifeInAHamsterWheel · 17/02/2020 13:41

@BobbyBlueCat that's good to know, with what happened to Caroline Flack it just shows how resilient Taylor Swift is, could easily have gone the other way for her but she seems thankfully to have the strength to deal with stuff.

Girliefriendlikespuppies · 28/02/2020 22:30

I watched it not really wanting to like her very much and ended up really liking her! I thought she seemed very nice and normal.

Kanye was such a dick for doing that to her, such a mean thing to do.

Her political stance and feminist views were spot on.
