Tonights supernanny - anyone watched it ?

I missed the first half but was really shocked ayt the 4 yr olds behaviour . I had thought that most of the programmes were pretty much the same but he was like a wild animal.

i did was shocking but sad.theres another thread somewhere on this,i'll see if i can link.

I missed the end because I was putting ds to bed but I hope things got better for them. They were such a sad family after losing their little boy and I think every member was being damaged in some way because they hadn't been able to deal with their grief .

It was very sad. But spitting is my bugbear and I have to say if I was spat at by my child I too would find it extremely difficult to react with patience.

I thought Jo was going to lamp him at one point! Hope they all came through it stronger - that was traumatic to watch so must be awful to live it.

My six year old watched that with me-she thinks we should get her in to deal with her little sister! She attacks me and her ( not daddy or anyone else) although she is only 2. I know I can't calmly deal with her when she does that, I try really hard to be calm but what do you do with a 2 yr old who can't be reasoned with? She's fine one minute then attacks me or her sister, also gets really jelous. Any advice that would work for toddler with that kind of behaviour?

It was a corker, nutcracker - first time I've ever seen Jo losing her cool a bit but the little lad was out of control completely.

It was such a shame.

There's nearly always a story behind a child's bad behaviour in this case a very sad and tragic one, it was heartbreaking just watching it let alone having to live it. I haven't always been a fan but I thought Jo did really well tonight and showed she could manage without the naughty step. I think I'm a really patient person but after four hours of screaming even I would have lost it.

is it repeated?

My tv magazine says its repeated on friday at 9.55pm on E4.

I agree - Jo did really well, and it looks like she got some great results. Was good to see some other techniques other than the naughty step.

The little boy was WILD though. so sad for them all.

i agree it was great to see something other than the naughty step, chair, corner etc. My nearly 4 yr old dd has explosions although not as bad as that boy and she is getting better and i am finding that removing her or me and just ignoring does do the trick to it progressing. Sometimes it is difficult though and you just end up trying to talk to her and get into a vicious circle and it does make you very angry and frustrated and it was interesting as my dh was very similar to the dad in the programme in his way of dealing (at one point in the programme the dad said oh i was talking too much at that point) just reminded me of dh!!! I thought it was great that he could stay at his nursery because his behaviour hd improved so much.

It is also on saturday on E4 at 3am.

The fanmily lost their son Joshua to cot death just as he started the terrible twos and he just didn't move on, but in the end his nursery place was saved as his behaved turned around and he became a lovely little boy.

The next few programmes look good, a family with 2 sets of twins under 5yo who have bottles and nappies, tho 2 are at school and there is a repeat of a family of 5 think it includeds triplets who run wild, again E4 friday/saturday.

Jo is on ITV at the moment, she has plugged her new book "confident baby care" and is going answer phone in questions.

Christ - when he kicked her in the face! Its a sad show this one, with their loss. I like the pair of them too. Dad seems OK but a little bit smug.

To be honest, I usually watch this for some self gratification that my own arent that bad after all, but tonight Ive seen it in a different light

I usually have no sypmathy for the parents that get Super Nanny in, but I eally felt for this mum.... there for the grace of God .....

They basically turned their lives round, there was this lovely shot where the little boy (Cameron i think) was walking down the street holding his little brothers hand, he was so proud, very touching.

Then mum told SN that nursery had let him keep his place as he was a changed child!

I cant beleive that the poor 15month old? was kept in a play pen for 6 hours

That was a sad programme to watch

and brilliant that they got the results they wanted

Did anybody see this weeks with the 2 sets of twins, the five year olds were still wearing nappies at night because the parents said that they knew it would be a hassle for them if they left the nappies off, the children told Jo they did not want to wear them it was just so their parents could have an easier life. I appreciate 2 sets of twins must be really really hard work but surely you should listen to your children. I hope their friends at school were not watching.

I didn't watch it all the way through as you know the outcome everytime it's so formulaic - I just watch to see the first 20 mins so I can feel better about my own crap parenting skills

Moomin your right I have to laugh each week -supernanny goes into home sorts out problem, supernanny goes away for a few days everything falls apart, supernanny has to come back again etc.

On the whole I think Jo Frost does a great job, the families seem very pleased with the results and the children nearly always love Jo Jo and are much happier at the end of the process but it does seem to follow a set pattern.
