Peachy · 28/08/2007 17:39

I loved it! we only found out about the return a few hours before- yay! perked me up no end

ProfYaffle · 28/08/2007 17:41

My dh loves it, I'm a slightly 'meh' about it.

Aitch · 28/08/2007 17:41

i've seen the first two eps, it's the highlight of my week.

policywonk · 28/08/2007 17:42

Is it better than the first series then? I ran out of puff with that, and considering that I think Chris Morris is a demi-god and I love Father Ted, I was a bit surprised at myself.

MegaLegs · 28/08/2007 17:42

Love it!! So glad it's back.

glammarjoram · 28/08/2007 17:45

Thi is the funniest thing on telly. Agree with Rory re the bit where Moss was the barman. Makes me snort even now. Even when you kmow what's coming it's still hilarious. Downloaded the last series for DP who didn't see it and I have 5 episodes to rewatch tonight. Including the one with the fire! Life is good.

macneil · 28/08/2007 17:51

Thought it was ace. This series (well, ep 1) is a bit more Father Ted than the last one, in that it's more about behaving very SLIGHTLY badly and then being punished for it by being HORRIBLY EMBARRASSED. I love the way it isn't afraid to be really broad and silly, especially after years of things trying to be documentary style no laugh track because the Office was such a massive hit. Like Nighty Night stuff, it's just really hard to watch!

claricebeansmum · 28/08/2007 17:52

Love it too...

Boco · 28/08/2007 17:57

Watched it with dp and friend on friday, - me and dp were giggling helplessly on the sofa, and friend watched us bemused and said 'you do realise this is NOT funny don't you?'.

But it is, it's funny.

policywonk · 28/08/2007 18:02

Lawks, I couldn't stand Nighty Night. I mean, if you knew a woman like that in real life, you'd tell her where to stick it, wouldn't you? Not continue to socialise with her and get tied up in whoops-there-go-my-trousers-type situations.

FlameBatfink · 28/08/2007 18:07

It's back!?!?!?

catinthehat · 28/08/2007 18:11

I really hurt myself laughing at the 2nd half of ep1. Have replayed it since and it is still funny. "I'm disAAAbled" is like Father Ted "These are small and those are far away", just say it to myself and giggle. Can see it being completely ho hum to many people though

TheArmadillo · 28/08/2007 18:15

I liked the first series (wouldn't have said I loved it) and it seemed never to be as funny as it could potentially be.

I watched an episode of the new series and thought it was dire. THe worst thing I find is the ideas have so much potential and it is always almost hilariously funny but just misses it a bit.

The nerd guy is from Garth Merenghi's dark place I think and he was really good in that, but it just never seems to fulfill it's potential.

FingerInTheMash · 28/08/2007 18:22

I do get some programes over here and my Godmother kindly posted this to me and i don't understand the humour, i think its because i have never worked in an office.

Peachy · 28/08/2007 18:51

It's certainly a very specific sense of humour, thats for sure. Not sure whether you need to have worked in an office, but having spent a LOT of time with geeks (and married one!) helps LOL

margosbeenplayingwithmynoonoo · 28/08/2007 18:57

love it - although I haven't seen Fridays episode yet

Ishouldbeworking · 28/08/2007 19:10

Saw my first episode on Friday and was helpless when they burst into the toilet.

Pollyanna · 28/08/2007 19:11

watched it with dh last friday - we both thought it was hilarious

Bomper · 28/08/2007 19:23

Hilarious, was crying with laughter. Moss is FAB!!!

macneil · 28/08/2007 19:24

I didn't write my post very well - just in case you thought I meant the opposite, I also loathed Nighty Night. It tries too hard to shock but doesn't feel remotely real, then the IT Crowd is just stupid and broad, but the characters are genuinely recognisable. (Also married a geek.)

skerriesmum · 28/08/2007 19:26

I love it too! "Willies, willies, I love willies!" The one show DH and I both enjoy watching (he's a BIG geek and we used to work together in IT so a lot of it really resonates.)

policywonk · 28/08/2007 19:27

s'OK, macneil, I got that!

My DP also a geek (programmer/computer helpline person). I know it's an old joke now, but he does love the 'Have you turned it off and on again?' line.

pointydog · 28/08/2007 19:40

hmm.

Is it better than the first series 'cause that was most unfunny.

Pixel · 28/08/2007 20:53

So glad this is back, I love it. I watched it the other night and kept giggling to myself all the next day because funny things kept coming back to me. The best part was definitely Jen's face when she turned round to get Roy a drink and Moss was standing there. I also thought they were spot on with the patronising 'celebrity' and her "you're doing so well, high 5!".
