Much better than the daft Christmas special! I’m happy again.

I did! Agreed that it was much better than the Christmas special!

Yes. Thought it was quite good. Nurse Crane looked very cyanosed at the beginning, and Mother Mildred has far to much make up on!

Mother Mildred does look like she’s had a long holiday in the sun. And how can she be so greedy to eat two bits of tea cake leaving not one each for the others. I’m glad she’s gone.

Loved it. Back on form.

I doubt they would have been quite so sympathetic and anti-adoption as they are made out to be in 1965 though.

I enjoyed it too. Saw the dodgy priest coming a mile off and I loved that Mother saw him off and protected the mother and child. Agree about the tea cakes though- selfish of her!

Looking forward to next week now.

Has the Mother Mildred character gone? I dislike MM in pretty well anything she does, so found her very unconvincing in CTM.
Agree that the sympathy for unwed mothers in the sixties is not realistic of the times. And the Central Midwives Board (1960’s Midwifery governing body) would not have been impressed by the photo’s sent to the competition - bringing the profession into disrepute etc...
But definitely an improvement on the Christmas special.

Delighted if that is the end of MM.
Much better than Xmas, not too much doc and the tights comp was fun, if unrealistic.
