He didn’t play her dad; Tom Conti did!

What was all that about??

Apart from that, great show! Fabuloso!

Because of the joke in the show (when miranda turns the blender on so she can't hear) where Penny talks about Nigel Havers - twice! Implying they knew each other, ahem, intimately Grin

Oh yes!!

So what happened to Tom Conti?

I bloody loved the programme and even cried in it. am a huge fan of mc fly and keating though and I thought it was all so well done. much much preferred it to the eurgh rubbish of gavin and Stacey which didn't make me laugh or cry or have any adverse effects!!
they all seemed like really good friends in real life as well as just on the programme. ting ting to miranda!! (a clean version of fleabag)

Really enjoyed the show. The only person missing from it was Gary Vbarlow.

olivertwistwantsmore · 02/01/2020 21:22

Oh yes, Gary B. He must have been busy.

I thought Clive should have played more of a part too. Love him!

Tom Ellis is 💖
Was worth watching for him alone.

DobbyTheHouseElk · 04/01/2020 19:39

What had happened to Stevie’s face?

Couldn’t decide if it was bad makeup like Miranda or too much Botox.

DeathByPuppy · 08/01/2020 16:19

Just catching up with this on. It’s mostly repetitive cheesy guff but Tom Ellis is a seriously fine looking specimen of a man.

DeathByPuppy · 08/01/2020 16:19

*On Sky that should say.

I love Miranda - she treads such a fine line between Carry On and seriously funny. The such fan celebration did similar imo. My favourite bit was all the woke-looking teenagers saying how this wonderfully unapologetic funny WOMAN changed their life and helped them learn to love themselves. And what Sarah Hadland said about 4 strong female characters in one show Smile

RuffleCrow · 08/01/2020 16:28

Also, no Miranda, no Fleabag afaic

DeathByPuppy · 08/01/2020 16:38

I did think it was a bit off of Sarah Hadland to say that about all women’s tv as if Hart was a pioneer when Sally Phillips, one of the female creators of the all female comedy show and predecessor of Miranda, Smack The Pony, was sat on the stage.

No doubt, she’s got a point in that they are rare but Miranda didn’t invent it.

DeathByPuppy · 08/01/2020 16:39

Though, obvs STP was a sketch show not a 4th wall sitcom.

RuffleCrow · 08/01/2020 16:55

And SH was a Mitchell and Webb Look contributor for a stint, wasn't she? So maybe she's coming from that perspective, which i'm sure was fun, but a very male take on life.
