Is anyone else watching this?

The girl who is playing Delilah can’t act but apart from that I’m really enjoying it.

I KNEW Love was just as crazy!! I had a feeling she had killed or that she would at least accept him flaws n all. They subtlety planted a few seeds along the way.

Gonna watch season 1 again soon 🤣

Isn’t it weird though how much you want him to just be happy?! I genuinely didn’t want people to find out he was a killer! But then I was relieved when he accepted he was about to go to prison... such a rollercoaster Grin

Omashu · 06/01/2020 19:05

@Kitsandkids absolutely! They probably aren’t meant to but a lot of them do whatever the fuck they want in all honestly.

And actually I reckon they are allowed.

KurriKawari · 07/01/2020 02:29

I really hope they explain in series 3 which the older man that trapped Joe as a teenager in the glass box is. Reminded me of Dexter and his dad.

Didnt like the rushed lose ends. Candace is know one looking for her, how did love get rid of the body? Delilah, is her policeman friend not even looking for her on the down low? Forty blamed for the comedians death with no evidence? Doctor Nicky ok about going to prison knowing Joe is out there? Will all loved up after his traumatic experience??

It's Mr Mooney who owned the book shop that Joe worked in, in series 1. Although we don't really fully know what they're relationship was like, apart from Joe saying that Mr Mooney had practically raised him.

bananaskinsnomnom · 08/01/2020 06:59

We know that his real father was abusive, his mu at some point vanished but we don’t know how, he ended up in a group home and then worked in the books shop (as a teenager?) where he was locked up by Mr Mooney.....

We feel sorry for him because we see the flashbacks of how ended up so fucked in the head!

BlackCatSleeping · 08/01/2020 07:09

I really enjoyed it too. I think Penn is that perfect balance of nice guy but something creepy about him. Some great twists and turns. I didn’t see the ending at all. I wonder if Ellie will be in the next season.

user2314 · 10/01/2020 13:44

I've not read the whole thread however...

When Forty put the gun to Joes head I thought he would wake up from his acid trip and Candice and Delilah would be alive.

WhoWants2Know · 10/01/2020 21:41

His mother didn't quite abandon him. The social worker came and took him into care after he shot his mother's boyfriend. As he was hiding in the cupboard, she explained that he had to go away for a while because of "what was wrong with him"

Joe had broken the cctv at the storage facility, and as he was going in at night you could see him glance up at the broken camera. That's why Candace's murder wasn't filmed. There wouldn't have been anyone looking for her (except forty) so I assume she just ended up sausage meat.

I had guessed that Love would forgive Joe, but when I saw Delilah's body I knew Joe hadn't done it. For a while I actually thought that Candace might have done it to "show everyone what Will was capable of".

Oh, and the lady next door was wearing an engagement ring...

BlackCatSleeping · 10/01/2020 21:45

Wow! You have good observation. I’m really excited about season 3.

Luaa · 11/01/2020 23:59

I've just finished it. I nearly gave up around episode 3, but stuck with it and I'm glad I did. For me, the last bit with the neighbour ruined it for me though, I wanted to think he really loved Love.

covetingthepreciousthings · 12/01/2020 09:06

I wouldn't be too disappointed yet.. as it could be his mum Wink

BlackCatSleeping · 12/01/2020 09:58

He can't be happy though as we need a season 3!!

Luaa · 12/01/2020 17:01

Penn Badgley has said it isn't his mum. I'm not 100% ruling it out though.

TippledPink · 12/01/2020 17:07

I made it to the end of episode two and gave up- so much is him just talking in his head it didn't hold my attention! Does it get better? I can't sit through anymore of the same. I liked series one!

Inappropriatefemale · 13/01/2020 04:33

Yeah I preferred season one to two, sometimes certain programs would be best sticking with one season because it can ruin it!

Penn Badgely maybe just doesn’t want to give us spoilers which is why he is denying that it’s mum.

I can’t imagine he and Love being parents!

June705 · 13/01/2020 05:00

It was obvious from day one Love is mad

SapatSea · 13/01/2020 14:29

Yeah, Love picked Joe up way too blatantly in the fruit section of Anavrin. I was shocked Forty was straight! Sure he was gay. Never believed he killed the nanny but for a while thought it might be the mum.

WhoWants2Know · 13/01/2020 17:40

Wait...

In the last episode when Forty was arguing with Love, he said he knew what she had done, ie he knew she had killed the nanny.

So what was with his acid-induced confession to Will that he had killed her, and all the subsequent guilt, gambling and drugs?

SapatSea · 13/01/2020 18:28

I wondered that too. Perhaps he just always trots his guilt out . He didn't take nearly as much acid as Will.

louise5754 · 15/01/2020 16:51

Way too much drama and obsession in that relationship.

How cheesy was the relationship with her friends.

I too though Forty was gay.

Inappropriatefemale · 15/01/2020 17:20

Yes Love was very cheesy with her friends, America does cheese best on the TV I think.

qazxc · 15/01/2020 22:51

There were a lot of references to loving one self / mama ru.
Maybe that's why will/ Joe, instantly goes off Love, because she's the female version of him and he doesn't love himself, is always searching for unavailable love of redemption.

BlackCatSleeping · 16/01/2020 06:02

I thought they were teasing that Fifty was the one who took the photos, but it seemed too obvious. Saying that they weren’t sure why Fifty and Hendy fell out and Hendy saying he was covering for someone.

I think in the first season because Becks was normal and her friends crazy, it was a good tease that in this season Love’s friends were actually really nice but Love was crazy. I was definitely waiting for something creepy to come out about Love’s friends.

BlackCatSleeping · 16/01/2020 06:03

Fifty?? I guess I mean Forty!! 😂

Bluewavescrashing · 24/01/2020 12:22

I loved the acid trip- Joe definitely had Johnny Depp vibes going on, Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas style.

I thought Love was lying about being pregnant so was surprised to see the bump at the end.

Even though the family were so rich it was unbelievable that Love could get away with killing Delilah and Candace.

Beck was 100 times prettier than Love.

I liked season 2 much more than season 1.i put all the pretentiousness down to the setting being LA rather than New York.
