Will gray be found out as an abuser - karen and Mitch must be able to see

What is Linda’s secret and her drinking

Will billy and honey get back together

Will Alfie ever be back - will cherry’s mum come back

Will STACEY ever come back

And as we have had deaths the past 3yrs on ee - ray (18) Abbie (17) - ROXY and Ronnie (16)

Tonight was good but totally surreal. It was hard to tell what bits were happening and what was in Linda's imagination.
Was the but were Martin was threatening her real.Or not.

tobee · 01/01/2020 04:12

I thought it was a good episode. Saw that it was a Simon Ashdown one. I hope Kellie really enjoyed the challenge of it all. She did really well. I found lots of it pretty depressing and worrying what people can do to themselves through drink because of unhappiness. I wondered what she said to Mick and to Sharon?

The clever thing was having it as NYE where there's loads of drunk people, not noticing so much that Linda is so drunk because a lot of them were drunk themselves and so many parties available. And her keeping going because she was trying to meet up with Martin.

Also, I laughed for about 10 minutes when Linda described Phil as an old, bald, fat fart! GrinGrinGrin

tobee · 01/01/2020 04:14

Also, about Chantelle and Gray's house. I don't like it. It's too perfect. The home of a controlling man. That wallpaper in their hallway is really well chosen because it's of a certain style and tastefulness, but such a big flowery print in a small space makes it very oppressive.

tobee · 01/01/2020 04:16

Looks like a spoiler at 02.39?

PremierNaps · 01/01/2020 06:53

I think the episode maybe was to show how Linda's life is going and to show the effects of alcohol. I hope not though I don't fancy more months of Linda drunk.

DoesntLeftoverTurkeySoupDragOn · 01/01/2020 07:23

FFS @cuddles37, if it's not been broadcast but is something you've read somewhere, it's a spoiler.

catinb0oots · 01/01/2020 08:08

FFS I've reported it

PinkDaydreams · 01/01/2020 08:14

Oooooo could be tubbs yes as he hasn’t been seen for a few episodes

Chipstick10 · 01/01/2020 08:47

I thought it was dead boring. What an anti climax

AlwaysOnAbloodyDiet · 01/01/2020 08:51

I thought it was a waste of an episode tbh, it's as if they used it as a filler episode. Drunken Linda could have been edited down to 15 minutes, we didn't need 30.

Great acting by Kellie as usual - she put me right off my wine last night. I threw most of my second glass down the sink Shock

MrHodgeymaheg · 01/01/2020 08:52

I think the OP's theory is probably right. I think Ken is alive and Linda wants to tell.

Best bit was Linda trying to slow dance Mitch. His bewildered face and him muttering "I think you should go home now" was a picture.

It was hard to watch in places. Actually made me glad I didn't go out last night and witness a town's worth of that behaviour!

Powergower · 01/01/2020 08:59

So many filler episodes between Xmas and new year. Linda is a good actress but it's very disturbing and actually v sad that EE have made her deal with the autism like this. And also there's always a weird underlying suggestion that ollie became autistic following the fall from his High chair. That's where this story started years ago. I think it's all a hideous depiction and can be distressing for families who have children with autism.

I liked the episode but it went on too long and it would have been nice to see what the others were up to aswell. Gray and chan were nowhere to be seen in their house party, are they away somewhere?

mintyt · 01/01/2020 09:05

I think it was very well done, @cuddles37 I think your right

southeastdweller · 01/01/2020 09:12

A spoiler is a reference to something that the audience don't know about because it's not been seen yet. It's really not difficult to understand.

AlwaysOnAbloodyDiet · 01/01/2020 09:49

@Powergower I actually think it was quite well done - the fall being a coincidence at a time when the early signs of ASD become evident in a young toddler, just like the MMR vaccine being given to 18 month olds. So as a parent, you'll blame the fall or cling on to hope that the impact of the fall is resulting in the child's behaviour. I don't think they ever meant to imply that the fall caused Ollie's autism.
It has been difficult to watch.

FuckItFriday · 01/01/2020 10:18

Gray and Chan are on holiday after renewing their vows, tenerife I think? They let Kate looking after the kids in their house and she decided to have a party.

FuckItFriday · 01/01/2020 10:19

Left Karen... not Kate who ever she is!

The80sweregreat · 01/01/2020 10:39

Her drinking was getting bad after Ollie was diagnosed , but it's worse now she's being threatened by Martin and is obviously hiding something from the others.
I'm still impressed she could stagger about in her heels so drunk like that. Getting in the cab with that random guy was scary though. She's already been a victim of rape once before so I'm glad she got away somehow!
I wonder what she said to mick and Sharon ?

DoesntLeftoverTurkeySoupDragOn · 01/01/2020 10:40

She seems to be struggling with ageing too I thought.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 01/01/2020 10:42

That wallpaper in their hallway is really well chosen because it's of a certain style and tastefulness, but such a big flowery print in a small space makes it very oppressive

It's a million% better than the house when Kim and Vince lived there . Their decor was hideous and gave me the vapours !.

They let Karen (edited) Grin looking after the kids in their house and she decided to have a party
Gray did say something like "don't burn the house down" so I think he knew Karen was going to stay there ( so that their DC had their own rooms and things) but he must've known she'd have a NYE party Wink

Sharon I think will go to live with Ian, even temporary till the baby arrives and she can go to Portugal.
Ben can stay at Phil's, Lola and Lexi can join them.
He's got Kathy, Bobby , himself . There's at least 3 bedrooms (original two + loft extension) then he converted the front room for Jane , so he does have the space (and what an opportunity to piss Phil off while looking like the Good Samaratin? )

The80sweregreat · 01/01/2020 10:49

She's struggling with life isn't she? Aging and the menopause does change you a lot but I'm my case it means I can't drink anymore ( or no more than one or two anyway. ) She's younger than me but still feeling the passing of time and so on.
Seeing her necking it straight like that made me feel ill.
Maybe schools should show sixth formers a bit of this episode to hi light what excessive drinking can lead to? We had alcohol / cigarette awareness lessons at school but it's not the same as seeing someone out of control like she was and what to could lead to ? It might make a few people think to not drink as much? It can be dangerous if taken too far.
I still think someone should have locked her in the bedroom back home with some water !

The80sweregreat · 01/01/2020 11:05

Mind you ; all I could think was ' who is looking after all the
children' ? ! Poor kids all left alone although I suppose Jean was looking after the slater ones.
Chantelle's kids will tell their dad ' Nan had a party and Linda from the pub was very drunk and dancing on the table.. '

MyNameIsAlexDrake · 01/01/2020 11:05

I was another who threw my glass of wine down the sink after watching last night (though watched it later as had been out for a meal before hand and sunk a few wines prior). This should definitely be shown as a safety video for schools.

The80sweregreat · 01/01/2020 11:16

I had my drinks spiked once and blacked out ( in my very early twenties) and I've never ever felt so ill or got so drunk since! Different situation to hers last night, but it was scary how much was vague. No social media back then thank goodness.
Too much alcohol can be a killer too.
I hope we see her get some help and stop drinking or she will just kill her self!

DoloresTheDonkey · 01/01/2020 11:32

Another here who couldn't drink my wine because I felt quite sick after watching L's very realistic portrayal of someone mixing drinks quickly on an empty stomach.

I was yelling at my husband who always pretends he doesn't watch EE, about what a good actress she is and he totally agreed.

I'm totally confused about what's going on now though. Roll on tonight's episode.
