Can you name this programme? 90s Treasure Island parody

This is a massive long shot but I have spent hours trawling the Internet trying to find this programme to no avail!

When I was a kid in the 90s my parents videotaped lots of (obviously age appropriate) programmes for us - my sister and I - to watch. We would watch and rewatch our favourites again and again.

I suddenly had a huge flashback to the fact that after one of these particular programmes ended, the recording went on to something. It was basically a Treasure Island parody - definitely a comedy, possibly with audience laughter. I get the impression it was a bit risqué although still family viewing (like a pantomime really). It will have been either BBC or ITV and the recording will have been between 1994-1999 although it could have been a repeat from further back than that. We never got to see the end as the recording stopped, although we got a good chunk of it.

As far as I remember it was essentially the Treasure Island story. However, I do remember one musical number in it with hula dancers and there was a line of something like... “and I am sexyyyy... and you are just too dumb” or something similar.

Sorry this is so vague and a complete shot in the dark but it’s really bothering me!

It could even have been a Christmas special of something; or a Comic Relief/Children in Need type skit

Fantasy island maybe? Was a parody campy tv drama set on an island

Captain Butler with Craig Charles?

TheSandman · 29/12/2019 23:58

Did it have a Female captain? And a sonar device made by strapping a bat into a dustbin lid?

"And a sonar device made by strapping a bat into a dustbin lid?"

Well this sounds amazing.

GivenchyDahhling · 30/12/2019 00:39

None of those - no female captain. The Craig Charles one looks brilliant though!

Any chance of some pics from the recording. Then someone might be able to identify an actor then it's off to IMDb.com.

@givenchydahhling You are not thinking of Chris Tarrant's Man O Man, are you?
