Hi my husband is up to series 6. He's got my 9 year old into watch this on her tablet and now my 7 year old is watching on hers.

I've never watched it but the bits I've seen involve lots of kissing. He's told me there is no SEX but I've heard them mention it.

He said it's fine and they are really enjoying it.

Any thoughts?

I would say (as much as I love the show) it is most definitely not suitable for children of that age! There are sex scenes in it (although not graphic they are clearly sex scenes) and there is a hell of a lot of death and violence! Have
a look at this. httpss://www.commonsensemedia.org/tv-reviews/the-vampire-diaries

I haven't watched it in a few years, but I'd say it definitely wouldn't be suitable for those ages. It's rated a 15 for a reason.

There's definite sex implied scenes even if they aren't graphic, and not to mention violent scenes in places (along with torture, hanging), and there's also drug use.

7 and 9? The Vampire Diaries? I really hope you're joking. It's violent, disturbing, there are scenes of drinking, torture, coerced and consensual sex, death, distress...

It's a 15 for a reason - but presumably that doesn't bother you since you're not actually intervening?

Here you go, this is what they are watching:

I'm pretty lenient with tv for my 2 boys but would not have let a 9 to watch it. Too violent for sure. 13 at least IMO.
