Has anyone been watching this?
Thoughts?

Love it! David is my favourite. Twyler and David are the dad’s really children and the men wrote it.

shartsi · 26/12/2019 13:37

It's so good

crosser62 · 26/12/2019 14:10

It’s just a little series that’s easy and simple isn’t it.

We love it, it’s very funny and the mother and David are my favourites. Their house in the first episode is totally ott

Thompson8 · 26/12/2019 14:45

I love it.

Cooroo · 26/12/2019 21:23

My OH wants to give up after 2 episodes. A bit samey. I've heard it's worth staying with - can anyone offer good reasons to keep him watching?

Autumnchill · 26/12/2019 21:29

Loved it and missed it when it finished. Binged watched it whilst getting ready in the morning

iheartspiders · 26/12/2019 21:34

I love it. Just starting season 5 and it's grown a depth I wasn't expecting.

Currently recommending it to anyone who'll sit still long enough to hear it!

I LOVE how Alexis and David's mannerisms are so perfectly alike. How do the actors manage that?!

Cooroo · 26/12/2019 21:40

They are father and son IRL.

Cooroo · 26/12/2019 21:41

You knew that. I wish I could delete posts!!

TheBananaInPyjamas · 26/12/2019 21:45

I love this!

Ewwww Daviddd!

Ritascornershop · 26/12/2019 21:49

I thought it would be awful, but I actually really like it. Shockingly, some 60+ years into the game, the CBC has figured out how to make good comedies. The dramas are still awful (earnest and predictable). I’ve also liked Mr D, and Kim’s Convenience.

iheartspiders · 27/12/2019 18:49

"They are father and son IRL"

Not Alexis (daughter) and David (son). Johnny (Eugene Levy) is the real life father of David (Daniel Levy), but the actor who plays Alexis is not related but she and David are just so spot on, it's incredible.

The eye rolls, the speech patterns, the hand gestures. It started so contrived and affected, but it's grown on me!

Are they doing a series 6?

Ritascornershop · 27/12/2019 20:20

The woman who plays the waitress in the cafe is Eugene Levy’s daughter. I think that character (Twyler?) is who Annelovesgilbert was referring to.

ShiningTor · 27/12/2019 20:27

Absolutely love it, it has me in stitches 😄

cushioncovers · 29/12/2019 23:32

We love it in this house. It's my feel good go to series.

scunner · 29/12/2019 23:38

I just love this programme. The later series has some quite emotional stories. I am about to start rewatching it all over again.
Cooroo, just watch it on your own. It can be tiresome when you try to convince someone else that it’s really funny and they won’t budge.

Pinkarsedfly · 29/12/2019 23:41

New series starts on or around 5th Jan!

Excited!

DartmoorChef · 29/12/2019 23:42

I love it

AugustRose · 29/12/2019 23:50

I love it, I wasn't sure at first but it helps that I love Eugene Levy from the American Pie films. Watch it, it's funny and lighthearted and I fell in love with David!

jamburglar · 29/12/2019 23:57

Love it so much. So quotable. So many phrases have crept in to daily life in our house. Mostly Alexis with "Eww David" "nom noms for us David" "Love that for you" but sometimes if we find something or work out an answer for something one of us will exclaim "it WAS the bébé!"

HumousWhereTheHeartIs · 30/12/2019 17:23

Highlights for me are the wig wall and advert Moira films for the winery!

HulksPurplePanties · 30/12/2019 17:25

Love it! So happy to see a Canadian show with Canadian actors getting such press. Also have a massive crush on Daniel Levy!

CoffeeAndCarbs · 30/12/2019 17:56

"Where is bebe's chamber?" 🤣 Moira is amazing! X

Autumnchill · 30/12/2019 19:45

Ah yes the wine adverts 😂
