i really enjoyed this as well - it was filmed in nottingham and Ilkeston which are very near to me

Cadbury · 28/09/2004 22:13

Can U meet your brother scate?

Cadbury · 28/09/2004 22:14

can I, not you. I assume you know him already

Skate · 28/09/2004 22:16

Cadbury - ha ha! I do, but unfortunately he's just decided to jack in his job (graphic designer) and go off travelling round the world so I'm going to miss him lots and lots and he's going to miss lots of family things like DS3's christening.

Anyway - didn't you think the programme was fab? I don't know, it just really 'touched' me and I loved it. I'm a right romantic!

Skate · 28/09/2004 22:49

I can't believe this was not worthy of more praise!!

OP posts:
Moomin · 28/09/2004 22:59

i agree. Thought it was fab. Pisses all over ny-lon which I've wasted god knows how many weeks on. scuse my dreadful language, btw

Skate · 28/09/2004 23:06

Oh yes - it's miles better than that.

AND even better, I thought it was a one off but it looks like it's a series!! Hurrah!

tiredemma · 29/09/2004 08:05

excellent, loved his poem that he wrote in his old school book, mabe me blub like mad.
good stuff from the bbc for a change instead of showing repeats of only fools....

Whimsy · 29/09/2004 08:15

Really enjoyed it, thought Paul Nicholls was great and looked even better

sweetheart · 29/09/2004 08:41

I thought this was a fantastic programme and Paul yummy Nicholls was great!!!

Skate, tell your brother if he wants a travelling partner to give me a call - he sounds yummy!!!

I thought it was a one off as well - but yippeeee I get to watch it every week

golds · 29/09/2004 09:17

Thought it was great too, spent most of my time drooling over Paul Nichols and Ben Miles, mmmmmmm

Kayleigh · 29/09/2004 10:15

ooooh, look forward to watching it. Taped it last night as dh was late home and I was catching up on some reading.

woodpops · 29/09/2004 13:38

A girl I was at infant, junior and senior school with was in it. She's a couple of years older than me though. I kept getting distracted throughout. Do you think it'll be repeated late at night or maybe BBC3 before next weeks episode is on???

Skate · 29/09/2004 13:52

Hee hee - just told my brother to have a look on here. He'll think I'm mad!

OP posts:
Twinkie · 29/09/2004 14:09

DP thought it great I thought it CRAP CRAP CRAP!!!

muddaofsuburbia · 29/09/2004 14:11

Um.. I thought it was pants too - sorry

Twinkie · 29/09/2004 14:14

Just don;t understand the point of it - he was a tooser who was ok at the beginning - had some morals at least and then he became as bad as them by lying to his girlfriend that he had slept with someone.

And all the sex has to be vivid, I don't want to compromise, reading out that crap poem - all just nonsense!!

GGGGRRRRR - and to think I talked DP into watching it and now am going to have to sit through it each week cause he thought it was great!!

Mirage · 29/09/2004 20:10

I had to turn it off as the accents infuriated me.Do TV producers think that everyone north of Watford must have an 'ee bah gum' accent?

vict17 · 06/10/2004 09:36

Did anyone watch last night's? I thought it was much better than the first episode last week. I grew up in Nottingham and loved seeing the train station etc

taramac · 06/10/2004 09:47

What happened last night - watched last week but missed last nights as I was watching the end of that Tamzin Outhwaite thing on itv. Watched it mainly because Dougie Henshall was in it! Maybe that should be in the who do you fancy but are embarassed to admit thread!

vict17 · 06/10/2004 09:52

It was mostly about Paul Nicholls' disabled brother's 18 b/day.

Skate · 06/10/2004 10:06

Thought it was brill again! And to think, I was planning to watch that Tamzin Outhwaite thing too but when I came downstairs BBC1 was on otherwise I'd have missed it!

Thought the brothers little script at the end was fantastic. Bit blubbery again I'm afraid. It's hormones - well, that's my story and I'm sticking to it

OP posts:
golds · 13/10/2004 09:37

Anyone watch this again last night, its such a great series, its made me understand how some men feel, very eye opening

Skate · 13/10/2004 09:39

Thought it was fab again - made me cry! That's nothing new though!!

Classic line of that programme - Q: "I've seen your boxers in the washing basket Gary, don't tell me it'd be an effort.'

PMSL!!!

OP posts:
vict17 · 13/10/2004 09:43

I loved it too Skate - and PMSL at "can I have some of your spunk"!!!!
