I was surprised Brenda even turned up. His daughter split her and Bob up, then he announced his immediate departure and basically implied that their relationship was a pile of shit.
As for Laurel she hasn't got a clue.

I’m so glad others have mentioned Vanessa’s face. It definitely looks different. Not sure if she has just had work done or whether the lack of make-up is showing up work she already had done.

Yeah I thought maybe she'd had work - to be honest I was staring at her so much in one episode I actually thought it was a different actress except her voice sounded exactly the same! I was even wondering if she had a twin stand-in or something .

to be fair she is duffed up a bit there! But I will see if I can load these two pics as a comparison. her face now looks really puffy whereas before she had cheekbones. Sorry it sounds like I'm having a go but I just found it so different I couldn't focus on anything else. At least when charity had a haircut the characters mentioned it, so I didn't have to feel so bewildered!

What is annoying about the bowel cancer storyline is that Charity didn’t notice, before a colonoscopy you have to fast, drink pints of foul tasting liquid and expel your insides every 5 minutes, unless Vanessa had booked herself into a hotel for 48 hours there is no way Charity would not have said “why are you not eating, drinking pints of laxatives and hogging the toilet babes?”

Yes I think it’s been poorly built up. Feels very much like another afterthought storyline.

It's a bit of a crap relationship if you don't even tell your partner you're going for a colonoscopy!

In reality Doug can't just go an live in Oz, he'd have to have around £320k in assets and a £40k annual pension, plus lots of dosh for health insurance if memory of a friends parent who tried to come and join her recently needed to get residency. I also thought he treated Brenda apallingly.

Colonoscopy doesn't check lymph nodes and I was told a scan won't show up cancer in them because it would be too small, I didn't know if it had spread or not until after they were removed during surgery, fortunately mine hadn't.
