Yes, agree, laughter showed him in a bad light. I also know I tend to laugh when nervous and also when bad things happen or even in pain. It's a nervous laugh thing and I hated it when my mum did it when I hurt myself as a kid. And now I do it when my kids hurt themselves and they hate it! But it kind of bubbles out in situations.

It could be that no upbringing would have enabled him to deal with those things.

Thing is, even twins/triplets are individual people, as is surely evidenced by those being brought up together being different to each other!

That it happened in the 60s & for no apparent reason & that a Jewish organisation was involved!

It was a study - there were lots post WW2 on the effects of separation, trauma and parenting styles on children’s development.

It was a useless study - no results - and there already were many many such studies. Who paid for this - what were they trying to do? Can we see any of the study notes?

Looking back - were other studies also orchestrated? Were babies stolen or bought? Were mums told that one twin died, but was taken away at birth? The mind boggles.

Anna Freud did a lot of twin work, it was a subject of fascination and nonsense back then (evil twin/good twin).
