This is on tonight. 10pm C4. It is a documentary that is well worth a watch and won loads of awards.

"Identical triplets become separated at birth and adopted by three different families. Years later, their amazing reunion becomes a global sensation, but it also unearths an unimaginable secret that has radical repercussions."

Oh, I saw this a little while ago. It is jaw-dropping.

SuburbanCrofter · 16/12/2019 18:15

I watched it without knowing the 'twist' and it was indeed jaw dropping. I would advise no spoilers on this thread for those who haven't seen it!

firsttimebuyer20 · 16/12/2019 18:31

Oh I've never heard of this! I'm hunting for the Sky remote now so I can put it on record Grin

ineedaholidaynow · 16/12/2019 22:54

It is jaw dropping

Italiangreyhound · 16/12/2019 23:55

I'm just finishing watching it. It is amazing.

I'm mum to an adopted boy and it is definitely very moving.

SillyBub · 16/12/2019 23:57

I've watched this! I remember enjoying it but I have no recollection of the twist!

That says a lot about me rather than the programme though Xmas Blush

Italiangreyhound · 17/12/2019 00:06

The boys were so handsome, it was just an incredible story.

Italiangreyhound · 17/12/2019 00:06

Well men not boys!

ineedaholidaynow · 17/12/2019 00:25

Sillybub do you remember the circumstances of their adoption?

Italiangreyhound · 17/12/2019 01:00

I do but someone said no spoilers... There's a Wikipedia page on the documentary.

GruffaIoChrimbo · 17/12/2019 01:25

I rented this a few months ago, it is a brilliant documentary. Had me thinking about it for days and reading nurture/nature stuff for ages.

IHaveBrilloHair · 17/12/2019 15:28

I really enjoyed it, but omg, how horrific.

ineedaholidaynow · 17/12/2019 15:44

Gruffalo I'm adopted, so is DB but from different birth parents. We are very different but brought up the same by our adoptive parents. Both adopted from about 6 weeks.

Whenever we were good my parents used to say it was nurture, if we were bad it was nature!

IHaveBrilloHair · 17/12/2019 16:25

I'm adopted, my older brother isn't.
I have huge issues with it as an adult.

FilthyBiscuit · 18/12/2019 00:03

I've just caught up having seen this thread so watched it. No spoilers so don't want to give anything away but I am so heartbroken for all of them.

Lordfrontpaw · 18/12/2019 00:12

Were there any updates on their story? I saw it a while ago when it was on tv - before the summer?

Lordfrontpaw · 18/12/2019 00:16

There was a 4th! Don’t know if if want to see the film though. The documentary was jaw dropping enough - that researcher (grrrrr).

FuckWhenDidIGetOld · 18/12/2019 01:08

Gee thanks!!

I came on to say thanks to the OP as I've been wanting to see this for ages. So am dreaming it now as I can't sleep.

Came down to type and saw the post above. 😤😤😤

GruffaIoChrimbo · 18/12/2019 01:23

lord's comment has nothing to do with the doc FWDIGO
The fourth died in childbirth and was not even mentioned in the documentary. It was merely a titbit lord shared for those who didn't know. Do watch it - it hasn't been spoilered for you and you won't regret it love Brew Cake

FuckWhenDidIGetOld · 18/12/2019 01:30

Phew!

Apologies Lord! 😂 Jumped the gun a bit.

Thanks Gruff. I'm watching it now and looking to see how to watch the movie. I heard about them months ago when they were interviewed on the One Show but couldn't see a cinema showing it nearby.

Think I'll order the DVD.

Thank you so much 😊

Italiangreyhound · 18/12/2019 01:38

IHaveBrilloHair would you be willing to say about the feelings you have around adoption? I am an adopter and also have a birth child.

I'd really like to discuss the documentary but not wanting to put spoilers on. Anyway, anyone want to discuss the issues on another thread?

pollyputthepastaon · 18/12/2019 02:38

How could there have been a 4th that died in childbirth? They’re male. They can’t give birth.

Lordfrontpaw · 18/12/2019 07:32

Sorry about the 4th bit of info - I saw the documentary (I don’t think they did mention it) and read it on the wiki page.

It’s not really about adoption though is it? I was quite shocked by it - can’t say why without making a spoiler - but it really made me rethink a lot of what I’d learned at uni.

Lordfrontpaw · 18/12/2019 07:33

Polly - it is about triplets who met in as young men after being separated at birth, and a 4th baby died at birth.

FuckWhenDidIGetOld · 18/12/2019 12:49

Not to worry. I got a bit carried away! 😂

Almost finished and going to order the DVD.

I am absolutely glued to it!
