I was wondering what Christmas tennis was Spidey

I’m the same - by the time I’ve remembered about the tennis, tried to find out who is playing and when and then tried to find them on Amazon the matches have usually finished

I just want to find somewhere that tells me who is playing and when - I agree, the website is not very helpful.

I see that GB have avoided going out Already by winning the doubles.

Saw some of the tennis today for the first time.

Saw the last 5 minutes of Dan Evans - v good win over Goffin. The interviewer asked Dan what it was like having the "legend that is Tim Henman" as captain. Now, I've always liked Tim but I'm not sure he's ever thought of himself as a legend

Then turned to Stefanos vs Sascha, to see that Stef had just won the first set. Zverev really wasn't happy. Boris just sort of backed away and left him to it. I don't think he said a word to him at the change of ends. Probably didn't want to get shouted at

Went back to the GB doubles and saw the last few games and tie break, whilst trying to take down all the Christmas decorations.

Now have a complete dust and hoover to do

Still getting confused over what day it is!

DS has an inset day tomorrow, so back to the usual routine on Tuesday. He's straight into his mock GCSEs then

Raahh I found this hoodie in my camera roll. I meant to post it before Christmas because I thought of you when I saw it but now Private needs one for her Christmas tennis as well

I don't know how I'm going to get back to a regular routine tomorrow. I feel absolutely exhausted. We don't take decorations down until after Little Christmas on the 6th. I don't know where DS's uniform is and my 2020 calendar has disappeared. I need Sascha to help me out

mama I had a lovely Christmas thank you, hope you did too? I don't feel ready for the return to reality at all. Decorations are still up here too - I hate taking them down before 12th night. I'm reviving an old family tradition of a 12th night party tonight - my grandma always used to have them so I'm having one - just not as many people or as much sherry (ie it won't be as good as hers)

Jane I think I remember you saying about Little Christmas last year - I just love the sound of it.

mama we have an Alexa show ( upgraded from a dot, dh likes his gadgets) and she HATES me. We played a quiz on it on Christmas day. She told me 3 of my answers werewrong when they weren't!

I have taken down the tree whilst dh took dd1 to see Jumanji. It was one or the other. Who am I kidding? I would have had to do both.

I feel knackered and am watching Back to the Future 3- my least favourite.

Just finished dusting and he has just finished the hoovering, by the sound of it, which means I won't have to do it later this week, apart from DS's bedroom when he's back at school. Hoorah!!

I have just been fan girling over clips of Safin who is coaching the Russian team. Then I realised that despite him having retired yonks ago- he STILL isn't even 40. ( he is at the end of the month).

I was a bit of a fan girl of Safin too Raahh - I can’t believe he’s not 40 yet - he must have only been young when he retired.

I thought, now everyone is out from under my feet, I would make more of an effort to see if I can watch something today. I discovered the Rafa match coincides with when I go to the dentist. Typical .

Well, it's finally happened- I have 3 children, who are now in 3 different schools/colleges, and I was sure they all went back to day.

Drove dd1 to school, DS got the bus, then went to take dd2. No-one there. Gates shut. A car pulled up I recognised, but then I realised her son wasn't with her (she's a T.A). Quickly checked the website , and dd2 is back tomorrow.

I am must have been under this delusion for a while though, because I wouldn't have made the dentist appointment if she was off!

I am losing the plot. I hope no-one saw me.

Been there done that when DS1 was little. Waiting for school bus then slinking home hoping nobody saw us. No website or texts back then just notes from school saying they had a day off which he would forget to give me!

I kept DS2 home today because he has a terrible cough which he's on antibiotics for.

I found his uniform at least so that's progress!

I wouldn't mind - it does say the 7th on the newsletter we got on the last day .

I really am not thinking straight at all at the moment. Would have bee worse the other way around, I suppose, to assume an inset day where there wasn't one. I'm just hoping the mother I saw didn't see me- her son is in dd2's class and already causes her enough bother!

Argh nightmare Raahh! I once forgot a non-uniform day - it was over 4 years ago and DS still mentions it now

And I didn't watch any tennis today either. Maybe it's just too early in the year, even for us lot?? I used to enjoy the Hopman Cup at this time of year, but that seemed easy to dip into, unlike this

I'm just finding Prime tricky at the moment, and can't be bothered with fixing it. .

I watched a bit of Rafa’s match today and saw the end of the Thiem/Schwartzman match - I’m not convinced by Thiem’s new hair. I think the format has led to some pretty uneven matches with some very low ranked players against top players. I can’t seem to get excited about it.

There’s been talk about the Australian Open possibly being affected by poor air quality because of the awful fires. Not sure what they can do about it other than close the roof.

Fizzy I am such an idiot. It's a good thing dd2 is always up and awak, and I didn't have to drag her out of bed like her siblings- or I would have really felt awful .

Thiem's hair is far too blonde for him, I think. It worked on Paire because he is , well, he is Benoit. He can dye his beard purple and look tres chic. Thiem looks like a teenager who found the domestos.

He has been blonder than this before, and his hair was all fluffy. .

“You actually are the first player to be World No. 1 in three different decades… what is the secret?” Rafa was also asked.
“Well, this only means that I’m very old!” our champ replied

That's from rafaelnadalfans which also has a lovely story about Rafa spending time with the low ranking Georgian players.

Jane I saw that Rafa clip earlier- I had to listen to it a couple of times because I thought he said he was very hot .

I love Rafa interviews.

I saw the Rafa interview - it made me laugh - he is quite funny these days (and he is hot )
