I was so excited to see this had been added to Amazon Prime and I’ve just binge watched all four series. I forgot how much I loved that show. Was anyone else a fan?

When I first watched I wanted to be summer and Seth but now I want to be Kirsten and Sandy 😂

Me too!! I always searched for it and was so excited when it came up. Still in love with Ryan - forgot how lovely he was! Those sideways looks... might rewatch it again

Ryan got really really hot in series 4! I really liked him and Taylor together. They just worked. Him and Marissa were never in the right place and the right time together.

Sigh. I want to live in Orange County and go to cardio barre with the Newpsies. Or in Berkeley with the Cohens. And get architect Atwood to design me a new house....

I love the soundtrack too. I keep breaking into Californiaaaaaaa and Alphaville ‘Forever Young’ has been on my playlist since it was first screened.

i'm halfway through season 3. I had finished binge re-watcing One Tree Hill and was hankering after another teen drama!
I used to think Ryan and Marrissa were the 'couple' of the series but now i'm not so sure!
Loved the fashion especially the first series - took me right back to my early 20s!

Ah we’re a similar age. I was early 20’s as well. I’m moving onto OTH next. I’ll always be team Nathan & Hayley there 😂

I've found it interesting that the fist time round watching these when I was younger I was all for the 'main' couples with all the drama (ryan and marissa/Lucas and brooke/peyton) and 2nd time round as a middle aged mum I'm all for the more stable couples or even the parents!!

I’ve just started re watching this too, I’m only near the end of s1 so far though.

I was in my early 20s when it came out and loved Seth Cohen but the older woman in me now appreciates the sardonic quiet of Ryan

I’d totally forgetter about Oliver the mad kid who was obsessed with Marissa and that Kirsten’s sister was played by the woman from The Mentalist, another of my American trash guilty pleasures!

Oh yeah the fashion! I keep wanting to tug the girls waist bands up!

What age is it suitable for? Trying to remember content and if suitable for dd12?

It’s typical teen stuff @fluckityfluckfluck, drinking, drugs, shagging, relationship angst, mental health, death, bad boys and wild child behaviour, stalking and affairs. All done whilst driving range rovers and living in fabulous California mansions and being rich AF.

I have all 4 seasons on DVD. Never got past season 2 though! Currently on maternity leave so think I’ll try and watch the whole thing.

I think when Ryan put his hair up off his face he instantly got hotter lol. I too was early 20's when it was first on, definitely didn't appreciate the older couples back then. Is it wrong that now I'm 40 I find sandy quite attractive - even the eyebrows Have never watched OTH - is it worth losing another few days of my life to binge it?

I'm 41 and laughing at it, whilst loving a wee bit of reminiscing.
They made Ryan stay in the pool house, which is fancier than my house!

@onlymyselftoanswerto if you like angsty teen dramas then OTH has to be your next watch. For me it’s no OC but I loved it nontheless. And Haley & Nathan are as the youths say ‘relationship goals’.

I loved Sandy and Kirsten - I think I wanted them to be my parents (dysfunctional upbringing). Sandy was so kind and easy on the eyes 😂
Kirsten was strict but awesome.

I adored Ryan and Marissa. I was so upset that Mischa Barton thought she was above the OC and got herself killed off! I couldn't bear to watch season 4! I wanted Ryan and Marissa to end up together
I might have to go back and rewatch the whole lot.

Most of my friends loved Seth but I had such a crush on Benjamin McKenzie.

Also loved the Cooper family drama and the mum's constant scheming.

Summer and Seth were so good (and Anna).

And Jim from Neighbours

I wished I had charity galas to attend every weekend and beautiful designer fashions at my disposal. Not to mention the cotillions (sp?) and school fundraisers!

I watched bits of OTH at the time it aired but didn't see every episode in sequence and gave up at some point. I thought Lucas was so hot back then

I tried to watch it since but it was so hilariously angsty I couldn't take it seriously! Probably the same if I tried to watch Dawson's Creek again

I watched Gossip Girl from start to finish. I loved Blair, Chuck Bass, Nate (crush material once more!) Dan, Jenny and Vanessa plus the rest of the cast. Serena was seriously annoying and I resented the fact she was the lead!
It's been a few years so I might watch it again

Oh and the wealth and fashions and rich-people drama of Gossip Girl!

I love the OC. Currently on season 4. I watched it for the first time when pregnant and on bed rest. My brother bought me all the dvds.

I'm a big fan of any glossy and expensive tv. Makes a change from my actual life.

But I find Sandy slightly odd this time round, he's almost like a father to Kirsten, I think their relationship is a bit weird. Can't put my finger on it. (Also can't get past the massive eyebrows, they put me off last time I watched it too)
