It's not quite time to don your woolly jumpers or stoke up your log fires for the winter - still some tennis to be played this season!

An exciting, mathematically challenging WTFs continues, new Davis Cup soon, etc...

Tell him you fancy Andrew Lincoln (because who doesn't) and he might change his tune Grin

Raahh · 14/11/2019 20:43

I must admit, I prefer Andrew Lincoln more rough and ready in the Walking Dead , than Love Actually.

I hate Keira Knightly .

There's a lot I get annoyed about, but overall, I still have to watch the film every Christmas.Grin.

(I mean, I watch the 24 hour Christmas/Hallmark channel. I have no shame).

Raahh · 14/11/2019 20:45

It shows none of us are that enthused by this match, that we aren't even commenting on how boring Henman is being. Just rderailing our own thread with film chat. A we do.

Fizzywinegum · 14/11/2019 20:46

My secret Christmas film is The Holiday which I admit is crap but I want to live in Kate Winslet’s cottage Smile

Raahh · 14/11/2019 20:47

Embrace the crap Christmas films. It's the only way. I love loads of the Hallmark ones. Grin.

I do like proper ones too- but I save those (although I've already watched Elf and Arthur ChristmasGrin).

PrivateSpidey · 14/11/2019 20:48

I don't fancy Andrew Lincoln Shock

The best Christmas film for festive hotness is The Bishop's Wife with Cary Grant and David Niven Grin

Now that's where I disagree with MN I like Keira Knightly and I love Atonement and the book as well!

Raahh · 14/11/2019 20:51

Spidey I love all the old ones.

I can't get my family to watch them with me. Sad

PrivateSpidey · 14/11/2019 20:52

I rest my case!

I love Atonement as well Jane

I think there is tennis on.

Ooh look, Fed won the first set.

And from the crowd's reaction he is still doing well.

You don't even need to look up.

PrivateSpidey · 14/11/2019 20:53

Fizzy The Holiday is in the so bad it's good category for me Grin

I agree about the cottage as well - it's lovely!

The remake of The Bishop's Wife (the Bishop's wife) was not good. Even if Denzel Washington was in it.

JaneJeffer · 14/11/2019 20:55

As I can't watch tennis I'm watching a programme about Sainsbury's. Don't ask me why. We don't even have Sainsbury's in Ireland.

Raahh · 14/11/2019 20:56

The preacher's wife! that should have been.

Raahh · 14/11/2019 20:58

It is so funny, the difference in crowd noise.

It was even evident in the Thiem match, which got him really riled. I suppose he expects it when playing Fed, or Rafa, but was not impressed to be the least popular when playing Thiem (because no-one has heard of him, have they? Grin

Fizzywinegum · 14/11/2019 20:59

I think we all might as well be watching a programme about Sainsbury’s Jane Grin

PrivateSpidey · 14/11/2019 21:00

Jane you're not missing much. Well you could be Grin - I wouldn't know tbh as I'm not really watching.

We have Sainsbury's right by school so I'm never out of there - I don't even like it much Hmm

Raahh it had never occurred to me The Preacher's Wife was a remake Shock - I've never seen it tbh but I know of it, if you know what I mean. Yes Denzel is fine and all but why mess with perfection?!

Or should that be peRFection Wink

Raahh · 14/11/2019 21:01

Jane that is funnyGrin!

I like Sainsbury's for some things, the kids clothes are good. Can't afford to do my weekly food shop their, but our local one has a lovely cafe, which is very reasonable.

I spent more time in it, when I worked in the JL attached.

Don't let him back in the match, Fed, we need you to win.

For Rafa's sake!

PrivateSpidey · 14/11/2019 21:02

Yes that absolute nobody Dominic Thiem! Who's only been in the top 10 for 4 years and 2 GS finals - but who's actually heard of him?!? Hmm

OP posts:
Raahh · 14/11/2019 21:03

Spidey Grin

I hope Fed hasn't had t-shirts printed. If he wins this year , will it be 7 times. They have barely mentioned it Wink

Now they are making excuses for Djok, and saying his elbow is playing up.

PrivateSpidey · 14/11/2019 21:04

Raahh yes the clothes are good - the one by us is just a "local" one though so it doesn't have them.

OP posts:
Raahh · 14/11/2019 21:05

Thiem has been our tip for big things for years. He is getting there. The younger ones are snapping at his heels, but I think next year could be his year, definitely on clay. Not that I want Rafa beaten, at all.
