Anyone else watching (on nowtv/sky) the new HBO series, Watchmen?
Alan Moore and Dave Gibbon’s graphic novel was a revelation in my late teenage years and I enjoyed the film adaptation but two episodes in and I am completely hooked on this new take. Regina King is superb. Seems like it’s going to be a slow build up and an unfolding and revelation of past events.

I'm watching & think RG is great but am so confused!

not read the novel so that might explain it. Was the chief of police former KKK? Her grandfather is in the wheelchair & he killed the chief? What were those babies in the river that Jeremy Irons was fishing out & why does he kill them?

Yes I think you are right the police chief was KKK as he had the costume hidden In his wardrobe didn’t he. That would explain her grandfather’s actions killing him I suppose (haven’t a clue where he’s gone now). I get the impression we can’t believe anything first off though.
I’ve just watched episode 3 and didn’t see the babies (was that episode4?) but Ozymandias (Jeremy irons’ character) gives me the creeps anyhow.
I would recommend the watchmen comic/graphic novel though if you’ve got time; there’s a whole chapter on dr manhantten and he came to be.

yes i think it was episode 4. defo ambiguous in regards to who's good or bad. I will persevere, no time to read extra at the mo but will had to the list.

I'm absolutely hooked on watchmen, R.King is brilliant as Angela! I did get confused in parts because I didn't read the comic but I did watch the 2009 movie and I thought it was brilliant. Can't wait for the next episode!
