Although the picture of Raahh having a smear on a windowsill conjures up all sorts of pictures. Hope the window cleaner wasn't involved!

Fuzzy I was 20, it was my first ever smear (at university, back when they were offered early), and it was quite odd. Fortunately, it was an internal window, with a blind- but it was strange. If it was my second or third one - and I was known to have a problem cervix , I could have understood- but it was my first one! And yes, it was quite uncomfortable, and every one I've had since -done 'normally'- have been fine!

Maybe it's a Welsh thing (Welsh university campus nurse ).

So, what with that, and proceedures involving sitting in water baths , I think medical professionals just like having a laugh at my expense .
