Arghhh I have one episode left and I just don't want it to be over!!! Did you watch the first two series years ago or recently? I am loving it even tho I find it hard to watch sometimes

Yes I watched it all as a run, what they now call Summerhouse and then the new series.

Absolutely fucking loved it. So much so that DH and I have just gone back to watch it from the beginning. SO good. So good. So brilliantly written that you can feel sympathetic towards people that do such dreadful things. By the end, the people of hated during season 1 and 2 had my feeling so bad about.

Perhaps they won’t be able to identify him because it doesn’t show his face.

Does anyone think perhaps Dris isn’t dead? I keep hoping that Sully couldn’t go through with it and let him just leave, like Dushane did with Jaq’s sister.

I really disliked Sully and Dris in the first two seasons. But Sully was so broken after what happened with Jason - you could see he was just broken by the life that he was in and was very much changed from the Sully who was out of control and nasty previously. Did we ever find out what he was prison for?

I HATED Dris in the first two seasons - he was so horrible. I think it’s a given he killed Jem’s dog and falsely accused him of being a snake. But then they showed fleeting moments of kindness like when he was caring for his daughter. But I felt very sorry for him by season 3 - especially by the end.

I think it's incredible writing that you feel empathy towards such awful humans, the things they do, the life they live. I spent half the time watching in turmoil about their lives and what happens to them all. When Jac attacked her sister it was such a horrible scene but so well written and portrayed. I can't (and don't want to) even imagine that kind of life. It makes me realise how sheltered (and lucky) I am!

Have any of you watched The Wire? Season 4 is similar to this. Tough, gritty but fantastic.

When Jaq was beating up her sister, it was horrific. But then later, when Jaq was telling Dushane about what she’d done, she said she beat her up and told her to leave but that was enough. And the penny drops that actually, she’s done that in part to try and save her sister from being killed. I’m sure Jaq’s own anger came into it of course, but it also very much seemed like she’d done it to try and appease Dushane and what she knew would happen.

Silly’s redemption began towards the end of season 2 with Jason. The subtle comments asking if he’d brushed his teeth were heartbreaking.

I love Sully’s character so much. I knew of Kane (Kano) from the grime scene - he was an early pioneer and is incredibly talented - but he’s done an amazing job of the acting in this.

Finished this the other day. Jamie is very fit but Kano is the one for me 😂

Finished yesterday , Fuck me that was good . Watched on iapd which meant I could fast forward any grisly bits
It was so so well made . As PP said despite their vile behaviour you do fall for them and start to care about them . With the two boys tugging on my heart string the most

Agreed, excellent series.
I had to watch with subtitles and get DS to translate some of the terms.
It's very different to Yorkshire but I have started dropping the odd Fam in conversation.
