They are taking about the Next Gen tournament.

It's funny- Stedf won it last year, and in theory, he is still top of the qualifying to go this this year (though he isn't, because he's qualified for London).

My Norwegian BFF Casper Ruud will be in Milan , so good luck to him. As they say in Norway.

JaneJeffer · 30/10/2019 13:20

Should be a good match if Stef is in the right headspace!

Raahh · 30/10/2019 13:21

No negative face- as Rafa might say.

JaneJeffer · 30/10/2019 13:23

Casper the un-Viking Grin

PrivateSpidey · 30/10/2019 13:24

Enjoying your updates Raahh Grin

Love the idea of Sascha doing laundry for the whole ATP Grin

I also think Goffin will beat Grigor, but that should be a nice match to watch.

I'm going to watch some tennis today, in fact I'm determined!

I'm keeping an eye on what time Rafa is on.

Have to say, Stef can be vulnerable, so an 'upset' would not be that surprising. They are pretty pro- Fritz, commentary wise , really.

JaneJeffer · 30/10/2019 13:37

I was really impressed with Fritz at the Laver Cup.

Raahh · 30/10/2019 13:42

Jane He was a bit of a revelation. When I first saw his name on the Laver list, I thought he was making up the numbers, but he did really well.

Djok is playing Moutet.

Moutet beat poor old Grigor in the first round of Wimbledon iirc, and took Felix AA to 4 sets in the second round. Not a bad young player.

Fingers crossed he can get the crowd on his side.

Now, sad as it is- I may have to go and watch Doctors. Grin (it looks quite dramatic today).

Raahh · 30/10/2019 14:14

So, Stef took the first set in my absence, and is now 3-1 up, looking like going 4-1 up in the second.

Raahh · 30/10/2019 14:40

So Stef took it- and Grigor took the firt set against Goffin!

PrivateSpidey · 30/10/2019 14:51

Isn't Moutet the multi talented young lad who is really good at the piano?! Or am I getting him confused with someone else?

Look at Grigor, making fools out of us (well so far anyway). I was going to say earlier that Goffin could be vulnerable to the upset (honest!!) but there's no point saying it now! Grin

Raahh I was thinking of Delpo the other day (naturally). He's missed nearly the whole season - yet again Sad

I don't know what his plans are now for his comeback (I still believe there will be one). He was planning to come back at Stockholm but postponed that. Delray Beach again I suppose?!

Fizzy the third possibility for Andy needing to go back on tour could be he just wants to get away from the children, especially with new born nappies to change and sleepless nights Grin

Probably not though. I reckon he's a great, hands on dad when he has the time. Hasn't he spoken about going to soft play areas with them? You'd never get me near one of those, given a choice. They were my idea of a noisy hell, especially as the strongest drink you could buy was a coffee Grin

Just catching up on all the scores.

I see Isner lost (talking of overgrown toddlers) Grin

Housework finished for the day, it's getting dark outside already. Think I'll light the wood burner and watch the tennis with a coffee (I'm assuming it's on Prime Hmm)

Raahh · 30/10/2019 15:03

So glad Isner lost, well done Garin!

And yes, looks like Grigor is out to prove a point. Grin

Raahh · 30/10/2019 15:11

Well, ever since Grigor and Sherzy finally admitted they were no longer an item , Grigor game has improved. With 1 or 2 blips.

Maybe he's better off single.

magimedi · 30/10/2019 15:12

I am so grateful that soft play had not yet been invented when my DC were young!

Fizzywinegum · 30/10/2019 15:19

Loving all the tennis updates - it’s got to be more interesting than the Amazon commentary - I snorted at Sascha doing everyone’s laundry Grin

I still remember soft play hell - thank goodness my kids are too old for that sort of thing now - there always used to be a weird hamster like smell in the ballpit (or maybe it was just wee!)

kazzaD66 · 30/10/2019 15:34

Just put Stan vs Marin on but not sure I'll last very long. My eyes are going funny already.
The court is terrible and looks like it's in the local school sports hall and the camera angles are awful.
Plus, I'd forgotten how trying Cilic's service prep is. If he bounces that ball one more time......Angry

Raahh · 30/10/2019 15:38

Fizzy ahh yes, the smell Grin.

I'm watching Marin and Stan, who seem to be playing in the smallest court.

It does look like a sports hall- really strange- and like they only allowed hald a dozen specatators in, and blocked off the top row of seats.

Not quite as odd as the sunken court at Melbourne. I don't like that one. It's claustrophobic to just watch on tv- it's like a squash court.

Raahh · 30/10/2019 15:41

Stan's shirt is an odd shade of red - possibly raspberry. Definitely don't let Sascha put it in the wash with Dom's shorts Grin.

kazzaD66 · 30/10/2019 15:48

Though it does coordinate better with his trainers than the pink and aubergine ensemble he had on in Antwerp Smile

kazzaD66 · 30/10/2019 15:53

Dear God, Marin. I counted 17 bounces before that serve Halloween Angry

kazzaD66 · 30/10/2019 15:58

So, this is Court 1.
I'm assuming Centre Court is better Hmm
I hate to think what Court 2 is like, though Grin

kazzaD66 · 30/10/2019 16:12

I can't believe it took that long for Cilic to get a time warning!

Raahh · 30/10/2019 16:16

kazza since I am still angry at the time violation Rafa got at crucial point in the US open final, I can't either.

kazzaD66 · 30/10/2019 16:17

Well done Stan Bear
