Nooo Rafa is out - apparently he sustained an injury during practice Sad. I think it’s unlikely that he’ll play in London now Sad

I’ve just managed to evict DH from the settee as well - oops - was looking forward to the match as well.

Raahh · 02/11/2019 15:47

X post.

I am so fed up now.

At least he played this far into the tournament, and Fed pulled out before the tournament - so he tried.

I just hope it isn't more serious.

I hate this time of year for him, it always seems to end badly these days.

PrivateSpidey · 02/11/2019 15:48

For once my DH completely shunned the rugby this morning (as NZ weren't involved) and we went out for a nice civilised coffee while DS was at a club. No buck's fizz though sadly. I will have to drop some hints for next time.

I didn't see any of the first semi but hoping to watch some of Rafa v Shaggy...

Oh no!! X-post Sad

Oh Rafa! Sad

Sad
PrivateSpidey · 02/11/2019 16:03

Now what am I going to do this afternoon??

OP posts:
Raahh · 02/11/2019 16:10

Well, here he is.Sad

He has been playing with tape on his abs for a while, sometimes you see that when he is taking his shirt off.

Oh, poor Rafa.

Raahh · 02/11/2019 16:12

It's strange watching the press conference when you can't hear the questions.

Raahh · 02/11/2019 16:18

Catherine marvelling at Greg's maths skills- even I can google the ATP race rankings points , Catherine. Obviously, I am not as clever as Greg, though.

kazzaD66 · 02/11/2019 16:29

Oh no!
I've just finished making a crumble for dinner and thought I'd settle down for a bit of tennis Sad

Don't think I'll bother watching tomorrow.
It could be a complete whitewash.
Or I could be pleasantly surprised and Shaggy could win, but I doubt it.

Raahh · 02/11/2019 16:39

I am feeling very despondent.

I need to stick on witchy nails.

Kevin is feeling very sad too.

I can't even drink too much when I go out later, in case Kevin invites friends.

Raahh · 02/11/2019 16:43

To be fair, I didn't think Khachanov would win last year, but he was on a bit of a run of good form, and Shaggy can be a bit inconsistent.

There's every possibility someone might swap Djok's nightnurse for smarties, and he isn't well tomorrow.

Goran- I love you. What are you doing on the Djok -side? Sad

PrivateSpidey · 02/11/2019 16:46

Witchy nails at a time like this?! Halloween Grin
Argh it's such a shame. I read on twitter that Rafa said he would try to be ready for London... but I am not hopeful.

Anyway. Hope you enjoy the party Raahh despite the lack of drinking. Kevin's friends should definitely be barred!

We were supposed to be going to a fireworks display tonight but it's absolutely chucking it down here as well.

I'm making toffee apples and waiting for the toffee mixture to get to the right temp. It already looks like lava but it's "only" 125C Halloween Shock - needs to be 148...

Waits...

Apologies for the cookery updates - this is why I need the tennis to be on!

OP posts:
JaneJeffer · 02/11/2019 17:32

I like cooking updates. I'm making chilli.

PrivateSpidey · 02/11/2019 21:20

Sounds good Jane - perfect night for a chilli.

I wonder if Shaggy might have a chance against Djok? It's a funny time of year isn't it, with unpredictable winners etc (she says hopefully). Like Khachanov last year as you said Raahh.

Speaking of Khachanov, I saw he and Rublev did well in the doubles - think they're in the final? I wonder if they're trying a possible Olympic team??

OP posts:
Fizzywinegum · 03/11/2019 14:06

Don’t think I'll watch the final today - might just keep an eye on the scores. Hope its not a djok whitewash.

There's an interview with Andy Murray in the sunday times today - he seems more excited that his hip operation means that he can sit in the ball pool at soft play than winning in Antwerp! He must go to nicer smelling soft play places than I did Smile

JaneJeffer · 03/11/2019 14:23

Grin any news on the baby?

I really want Eminem to make this into a song!

Tennis Thread: it may be nearing the end of the season but no negative face! Still plenty to look forward to...
Raahh · 03/11/2019 14:45

I've only just turned this on- and saw Shaggy lose the first set.

I feeling a bit delicate today. Though I didn't drink much, and was home for 10.30

My partying days are over- and I was sitting down for most of it, not clubbing Grin

So much for Djok being ill then. Hmm

JaneJeffer · 03/11/2019 14:47

Come on Denis!

kazzaD66 · 03/11/2019 15:06

Fizzy I said Andy seems like a good dad, even though he appears to have a slightly unusual interest in soft play areas Confused
Obviously a better class of them in the Surrey stockbroker belt Grin

But he does need to get out more (and I don't mean to a soft play area!) Grin

PrivateSpidey · 03/11/2019 15:19

So Andy didn't mention the soft play whiff of hamster cage then?! Yes he obviously goes to a high class establishment.

Argh I literally just tuned in and lo and behold it's Djok doing the boob celebration! Hmm I didn't see a single shot.

Denis is on his phone -texting? Grin

OP posts:
Raahh · 03/11/2019 15:21

Pfft.

Djok has won.

PrivateSpidey · 03/11/2019 15:22

I saw some of the doubles final - Mahut and PHH beat Hemsworth doppelganger and Rublev.

Mahut made a very emotional speech saying he'd seen Goran win the title in Paris when he was a kid and he wanted to do the same "but I wasn't good enough for singles".

Still pretty good though.

Also his son signed the camera! V cute.

OP posts:
Raahh · 03/11/2019 15:35

Oh bless Mahut.

He is one of my favourite players, and underrrated. I'm glad PHH saw sense and they paired up again.

I really hope Rafa makes it to London.

It is a pretty strong field, and a rested Medvedev is a big threat. I'd rather he win it, than Fed or Djok (since I know Rafa probably won't, or will withdraw after a match.).
