Best thing ever! On catch up. Is there a thread for this?
BBC1.
Bit CSI bit weird, fit lead characters, really good plot twists ie not hackneyed old drama.

@Leflic, I finished it yesterday but it's been finished for a week now. The original thread is here.

I was surprised at the ending...
I won't tell you what it was.

Just watching episode two now and got to the big where you go wow wtf!

Really good. Very much enjoying it. But wtf.

Is anyone else watching it around now? I don't want to spoiler it for myself by posting on the thread linked above. I have got as far as episode 3 now. Can this be a thread for anyone similarly still catching up (I may end up posting alone) so no spoilers from later episodes?

I had been toying with a theory that it was going to go proper sci fi and turn out to be parallel universes, but I think they are going with the deliberate lagging and insertion of faked footage.

The implication seems to be that their faking skills are so great that they can whip up fictional footage in minutes, so that the actual bit at the bus stop happened at eg 10:30 with the CCTV station seeing lagged footage, then by 11:00 the faked footage is ready and inserted in. I'm not sure how realistic that is - frame by frame editing would take several hours if not more than a day. No one has yet thought to check whether the time Shaun and Rachel left the party matches up with the time when the CCTV team saw the footage.

I had wondered if the whole scene at the door of #48 implied that the CCTV feed was coming from a different street corner (the streets round Belgravia have several corners that appear identical) but I dismissed that theory today too. The timings for that bit don't make a huge amount of sense. There's no time for a significant delay. Rachel is tracking Shaun as close to "live" as possible having been on the phone to her two colleagues when they were following him as he investigated Hannah's flat. The CCTV images Rachel sees are not faked, Shaun really did go in the house but clearly this must have happened a while before Rachel's colleagues got there. I don't get the logic of what the fakers are trying to achieve here. It would make sense for someone to have eyes on Shaun going into the property but a colleague at the CCTV monitor seeing an empty street (just stitching in a lag) but why are they putting resources into showing Rachel evidence that they could have just not shown at all given the street is actually empty? Is this just a gaslighting exercise?

And why were they showing Shaun the feed from the front door CCTV?

So many questions but really enjoying it.
