Two guys stuck to the canal towpaths all round the country - they didn't get near catching them

MancaroniCheese · 14/10/2019 21:52

I think I remember reading that they have and independent adjudicator that the hunters have to go to with their evidence to request information like ANPR cameras / mobile phone tracking etc xx

MancaroniCheese · 14/10/2019 21:52

Ooops kisses were not supposed to be on there! Blush

SachaStark · 15/10/2019 20:24

As a previous poster said, the reason why they all appear to be so incredibly stupid is, 1) because they have guidelines that they MUST follow, such as having to contact and meet with members of family, and not being allowed to stay in one location for longer than a single night, and 2) it’s obvious that the whole thing is scripted as fuck in these later series.

I believe the only genuine series we’ve seen of Hunted is the original series one. Then, all the stupid rules were brought in to make it so much harder for the fugitives. Having to all start in one place, having to receive messages about the collect point which then makes their location live to the hunters, and so on.

I would be very, very surprised if most of the later series aren’t scripted. All this nonsense with Toff and BoJo’s dad at the train station, “Oh dear, I just don’t know where he is, oh look how big this station is.” I mean, at least TRY to sound convincing.

altiara · 15/10/2019 21:42

@100PercentThatBitch yes, at the beginning they show that message that says something about replicating the powers of the state - I think that’s their get out clause when they do something unbelievable or unbelievably quick.

Unfortunately in the last couple of series the fact that it's an inside job is so much more obvious because they are "catching them out" in ways the real security services would struggle to.

100PercentThatBitch · 20/10/2019 22:50

So stupid tonight as if they wouldn't have caught Stan and Toff fucking ages ago

Wizzbangpop · 27/10/2019 23:24

Any one watched this evening episode?

SpoopyStuff · 28/10/2019 20:05

Me!

CurbsideProphet · 28/10/2019 22:09

My favourite series was an early one which was won by a chap from Cornwall. He was a stay at home parent for his son who has autism. The hunter team were very scathing of him being a carer and were convinced they would catch him. As it turns out he was very resourceful and after he had walked all the way back to Cornwall he lived in woods within a few mile radius of his home, saw his family regularly, and successfully set up a trap for the hunters. He said he wanted to win as the money would mean a huge amount for the family's future. He was great to watch and just got on with it. It looked like he and the cameraman got on well.

Now they have to sex it up and make it more dramatic.

AJ from Strictly was good last year. I bet Toff and Gavin would both get along better alone, as they both have a better grasp of how to beat the rules.

Wizzbangpop · 28/10/2019 22:19

Was it last year when two of the celebs split up. Want to say the made in Chelsea lads but I'm sure there was another couple too

Wizzbangpop · 28/10/2019 22:22

Sorry posted too soon,
They're dragging this out I feel. Like they always seem to be literal meters from being caught and they get away more times

Also how do they position the hunters in the cars so that they seem within miles of anywhere in the country

CurbsideProphet · 30/10/2019 17:11

Yes AJ from Strictly and Louis Smith. They didn't seem to get on from what I remember.

Don't forget the secret ghost hunters who can pop up at any time Hmm

Skinnychip · 03/11/2019 22:17

Anyone watch tonight. I'm really hoping Gavin and Martin can out run and outsmart the hunters.....

4forkssake · 03/11/2019 22:34

It's starting to bug the life out of me how quickly they find clues & piece together where they're going to be.

SorbetK6 · 04/11/2019 08:30

I liked the guy in the hospital who offered information to the hunters if they made a £1000 donation to charity and then it was wrong 😂

Coconutbug · 05/11/2019 12:05

Just watching on catch up - I think the more series I watch the more a realise how scripted/set up it is.
I swear when the rugby boys went into that apartment they didn't have the chest cameras on, then suddenly they do when they have a feeling the hunters are on to them?

I also liked the episode above with the stay at home.dad who won! I thought it was very clever what he did and you can see people trying to replicate this in future series. However they obviously have restrictions in place because it's not going to make good tv otherwise!!

RebootYourEngine · 05/11/2019 14:39

I decided to watch it this afternoon and it is rubbish now. I think the turning point for me was the episode where the checkpoint was at the top of a multistorey car park and the guy should have won but it was all set up in the hunters favour. From then on I knew that it was scripted/manipulated.

Coconutbug · 05/11/2019 15:22

Oh yes I hated that, and no one won at all. It seemed like the helicopter couldn't land for him to even make a quite break for it because the hunters were all over the roof

Skinnychip · 11/11/2019 19:48

Anyone seen the final episode? ?
Won't spoil except to say get the tissues ready for the ending of the programme.

Coconutbug · 11/11/2019 20:36

I'm watching now!
