Stranger things/never ending story

So, took my daughter to the hairdressers today and they were chatting about stranger things.
Hairdresser asked if my daughter liked the lovely song they sung at the end of the latest series... of course she did, she’s a massive fan of never ending story! She is 14 and it’s one of her favourite films.
Shocked, hairdresser just thought it was a ‘nice song’ and had never heard of this film... she’s in her 40s, Same age as me.
I have given her the details, told her is available on Netflix and I hope she won’t cry as much as I did when the horse sinks in the swamp 😬

Oh god, that film devastated me as a kid, (I'm also in my 40's). I'm surprised that your hairdresser has never heard that song in it's own right though - it got loads of airplay at the time, (and still does, on certain 'nostalgia' radio stations!).

I was shocked 😂 I now feel a bit guilty that she might watch it and cry as much as I did

The horse!! I saw a still of it on Netflix when browsing films and I felt so, so sad. SEBASTIAN!!! Such Strong Hands etc etc. If I watched it now I would be an absolute wreck. DH has never seen it (unbelievably), and I have told him that he won't be watching it with me.

For me it was more the ‘oh isn’t it a lovely song’

Whenever my daughter watches it I feel I have to pop my head in at this point and remind her that the horse is alive at the end of the film. It’s more to reassure myself than her

I'm an 80s child and somehow never managed to see it but have been longing to since watching ST4! I am at home sick so might just treat myself to it this afternoon
