13 Reasons Why season 3 - anyone else?

Yes I’m in my thirties, yes it’s probably aimed at teenagers and yes there are “real” issues that it raises...

But I’m really enjoying this season and wondered whether anyone else is watching?

Thoughts:

The teenagers all look about 25

Some of them, such as Toby and Ani, talk like they’re 30-35

Seems strange to me that the staff in Brice’s house are played by black actors

When it first started I thought it was going to be a complete new storyline about Ani, while it is a continuation about the original storyline, the focus is now clearly on Brice and not Hannah

It is all a bit far fetched and dramatic but compelling

I’m totally confused by it. What happened at the homecoming game? I’ve given up as I’m so confused, it doesn’t seem to be running from the end of the last one. No follow up to what happened with the guns, police etc

Its on my list to watch. Im surprised they made a third season - it was all pretty wrapped up at the end of s2.

ReeReeR · 30/08/2019 21:36

Well they sort of took Tyler away and then they try to get rid of the evidence to protect him

I don’t want to spoil if you haven’t seen any of s3 but they have sort of introduced a new storyline with one of the existing main characters and then introduced a new character as part of that story

It is worth watching IMHO

I've got 30 mins left
Ani is annoying and I agree Tony seems like he is so much older
I like that they are dealing with real / current issues though

Cailinnua · 30/08/2019 21:47

I only watched a couple of episodes of s2, didn’t warm to it. I binged S3 and really enjoyed it. A new perspective was good. It dealt with heavy issues, but was not too over the top with the awfulness of life. It is a bit confusing if you overthink it, you kind of need to let it wash over you.

ReeReeR · 30/08/2019 21:54

Ani is annoying!

I was just thinking they seem to deal with almost every obvious issue that affect people / young people which is a good thing probably

I’m on episode 7 of 13 and although it’s certainly not lighthearted, it’s an “easy” watch

I've just finished watching it.
Also on the wrong side of 30 for this but I was hooked and binge watched to find out how it ended

Have you felt empathy towards Bryce at any stage during this season OP?

Pinkflipflop85 · 30/08/2019 22:12

Finished it tonight. Definitely felt empathy for Bryce part way through which felt weird. I really enjoyed this series.

ReeReeR · 30/08/2019 22:14

I have felt empathy for Brice at times but I’m only half way through the series. I had to remind myself what he did but then I don’t believe anyone is all bad.
