Don't think there are many as it's seen as such a dreary time!

Have you tried ones pre and post middle ages like Vikings, Tudors, The Last Kingdom, Black Sails, Outlander -// I'll keep thinking

I though you'd mistyped 'middle aged' and I was going to post about how glad I was that DH and I weren't the only ones noticing ourselves watching middle aged tv these days.

Wolf Hall

Thebearsbunny · 23/08/2019 17:09

Knightfall on The History Channel

Can you find Cadfael anywhere? Going back a decade or two now; it had Derek Jacobi in it.

MaidenMotherCrone · 23/08/2019 17:28

Pillars of the Earth was good.
Cadfael

mamapants · 23/08/2019 18:02

I really enjoyed Pillars of the Earth and the other one based on his book, can't remember name now.
I think it's a shame there aren't more set in this time period. Not fussy about when exactly.
Is Cadfael good?

doadeer I watch Outlander but haven't seen the others. Tried Tudors and Vikings but didn't get into them. Only watched one episode of Vikings though so may have got into it.

Cadfael is great. We had dvd box set

OneFootintheRave · 23/08/2019 18:52

Last Kingdom is great. It's like Vikings but with better dialogue and characterisation. more historically accurate and some great acting. By the same author who wrote Sharpe.

doadeer · 23/08/2019 19:05

The white Queen on starz? Haven't watched it but seen it advertised.

nildesparandum · 23/08/2019 20:33

The Crowner John series by Bernard Knight?
I really enjoyed those books

Me too Grin

I agree The Pillars of the Earth was excellent.

mamapants, I didn't know there was another Ken Follett one. I'm off to Google!

DarlingNikita · 24/08/2019 15:18

Right.

World Without End seems to be the other Middle Ages one ken-follett.com/filmography/

mamapants · 24/08/2019 17:37

Yes I am probably one for middle aged dramas too.
That's the one World Without End, if you liked Pillars of the Earth you will like it. Shame there aren't more.
