Anyone else watching? I binged the first 5 yesterday.
So heartwarming to see the young girl with seizures family being given options and a less scary treatment than popping out half her brain.
And joining up the families with similar gene mutations to the researchers felt like a true lifeline, even if treatment/cure was a long way off.

Most of the families seem to really be benefiting from being heard.

But the girl with the sickness, oh man her mother sent my spider senses off the charts. Not letting a seventeen year old know who what medications she's on or any agency over her options. The mum seemed to want to be right, more than she wanted her daughter better.
Not taking the option of treatment at the children's hospital seemed so cruel. Felt like time away from parental control might have cleared everything right up.

We felt exactly the same about the teenager with the overbearing Mum. We thought it would end with the Mum having Munchausen's by proxy!

I’ve only just seen ep1 tonight trying not to binge all in one go it looks to be a really interesting series. Wasn’t keen on the dad from ep1 v shouty at the daughter I get he was so frustrated but making her feel guilty for maybe not having kids because he wants grandkids? Not understanding that he’s a carrier/ what fatty acids are etc he just seemed really ignorant but rather than listen he just got aggressive. Arse.

Looking forward to the rest of the series, medical professionals are incredible!

Sparklyring yes half expected them to uncover the mother putting something in the salad dressing. But I suppose that would have turned it into a whole different show.

The reaction to potentially no grandkids in the first episode was abhorrent. Especially when they had seen their daughter in so much pain.
