We are watching on Channel 4, UK pace and have only seen episodes 1 - 10 so far.

What was the song in Jeezebels? I know I used to listen to it but can't for the life of me remember.

So , at the end CL hands june a gun and says “ they’ll be coming for us”
June agrees .... do you think they don’t realise that the Martha’s have dealt with it and the big cheese will just be “missing”

Also think serena must of been in on it but she hid it well I think .

Just finished watching it for the second time....what really got me was the end and Cloudbusting playing over the very efficient Marthas and June getting dressed. Sent shivers down my spine.

I think serena totally set him up and agree with the pp about the turning point being when he was slimming over June. Serena will be hoping she gets to at least see Nichole, and she will have to spill everything. Can't wait to see Fred's face when he finds out

@Roughday I thought Lawrence may have been referring to his attempt to flee and finding out he has had his privileges taken away + the ceremony incident. He knows the regime is onto him.

She hasn't messed with their plan. The plan they were referring to was the plane shipment arriving. She's trying to arrange to get the kids on the plane when it leaves - they only wanted her to wait until after the plane has landed to do it so that they don't face extra security checks

I thought that when Lawrence gave June the gun, he was handing her the power in the house - she’s the protector of all of them now.

I assumed he’d give everyone in the household a gun, so that if the shit hits the fan they can each shoot themselves.

Why was June asking if he can get more drugs? Did she mean extra drugs, not just for his wife? Could it be sedatives? Will the drug the children? So many questions!

I’m convinced the plan to get the kids out will work. I think that’s why Hannah has been carefully removed from the equation; no one knows where the McKenzies are. Presumably, June is to be in Gilead for the next series, so it makes sense that Hannah is stuck in another state. Then again, I did not see the murder of the creepy commander coming, so who knows!

It's not just about the strength of the carpet cleaner. Different types of carpet will be more or less absorbent and I would expect a place like Jezebel's to have very easy-clean carpets that have a plastic-like ability to resist any blood cells sticking to them.

I rather suspect that the reason Cdr Lawrence purloined the works of art in the first place was solely so that he could use them as currency when everything went to pot.

Was the commander June killed in Jezebells the head honcho who came onto Fred in Washington?

When the Marthas talk about a 'plan' what do they mean? Yes, a plane is arriving but it can't just be normal supplies for Gilead, it must be something else?

I am muddled... why does CL say they are coming for him/them? The Top Banana/Big Cheese is dead, no identifying of them at Jezabels, surely everyone who goes to Jezabels shoudn't be there so it's a case of 'what goes on in Jezabels, stays in Jezabels'.

It's on the one I downloaded AnyFucker. There are several. Think mine was Series 3 specifically.

Pretty sure she said trucks, not drugs. As in, we can get hold of more children than we expected so need to have more vehicles to transport them in. Once that wasn't an option she started to plan how to get them on the plane.

I was a bit confused about the Marthas' plan too - doesn't help that sometimes the sound goes very low!

I loved this episode! So much for it being a series where nothing is happening

I love the relationship between June and CL/Eleanor - it's so nuanced, with an ever-shifting power balance. Sometimes I find myself sympathising with him/them, sometimes I can't bear him - like when he said they (i.e. architects of Gilead) underestimated the importance/power of maternal love

Slick operation at Jezebels....i wondered...are all rooms provided with super sharp pens so the ladies can utilise if needed? Seems more than coincidence.

I think the pen was from the Commander's pocket. Also heard "more trucks" not "more drugs", but don't use subtitles.

I thought the shipment coming in would be chemicals / weapons for the resistance.

Embrace the pen was in the top pocket of the commander's jacket, not just lying around. If all I had was a pen to protect myself I like to think I'd do a decent job.

Roussette Lawrence tried to pass checkpoints he doesn't have authority for. That will be reported up the food chain. That commander from Washington will have other commanders ready to take his place.

I don't quite understand why Commander Lawrence was unable to get through the border, when Fred and Serena managed to drive through unstopped. Serena just needs to phone June - using the handy phone that was discovered- and tell her the route to take.
