Did anyone see this?? Shock Shock

I saw it on IPlayer a while ago - so shocking - very good filming I thought but a pretty harrowing watch. The family are incredibly strong and dignified.

Sidge · 14/08/2019 22:41

I watched it. My goodness it was so sad and shocking.

The crime scene pictures after the luminol were unbearable.

That poor woman. I was struck by how diligent the police were, and how they really cared about Julie, what happened to her, and her family.

Pilcrow · 15/08/2019 14:21

It was heartbreaking. Her poor, poor Mum, sister and daughter. And it's not over. I dread to think what revelations are yet to come.

22Giraffes · 15/08/2019 20:56

It was so heart breaking, but agree that the police seemed to do everything they could to get justice for Julie. The luminol photos were awful Sad I watched the second episode today on iplayer.

There is also a stand alone episode called Motive Unknown (I think) which is part of the same series but follows a different murder case.

Toddlerteaplease · 15/08/2019 21:18

It's been on iPlayer for a while. Such a sad case. Though I struggled with the very heavy Glasgow accents!

Sidge · 15/08/2019 22:34

I watched it with subtitles on! @Toddlerteaplease

It was heartbreaking tonight, their joy that Julie’s remains had been found was so incongruous with the horrific situation.

Very powerful.

Toddlerteaplease · 15/08/2019 22:37

Yes, I know what you mean. Her poor family.

littlebird88 · 15/08/2019 22:42

like some others I saw it a while ago.
so sad for her whole family.
compelling documentary.
Theres another one been on bbc scotland recently same series , different case but equally compelling

placemats · 16/08/2019 08:02

Excellent series and well worth a watch on I Player.

It was heartbreaking tonight, their joy that Julie’s remains had been found was so incongruous with the horrific situation.

I agree the scene when they found the body was so distressing to watch, I really felt for all those in attendance. What was also horrific was the casual way the suitcase was left and the spade up against the wall.

I was interested to learn that Wallace had murdered a 51 year old woman when he was 15. Her daughter said that he should never have been released because she feared he would kill again. I hope he never sees freedom again and wholeheartedly agree with the detectives that he dies in prison.

Motive unknown is worth watching too. It is just as gruesome and distressing.

I want to say on this board that I hope both families get some closure and peace and thank you for sharing your heart wrenching stories. It really is important to know and understand the enormity of the impact on the victim's family.

placemats · 16/08/2019 15:06

I've no idea why suitcases is highlighted in my post and my apologies given the sensitive nature of the post and the programme. I have reported it.

LizzieMacQueen · 16/08/2019 17:36

@placemats I did the maths when the programme was on and worked out he'd been a minor. Wonder what the circumstances were.

Made me think of Aaron Campbell.

Just watched this and I agree. Such a horrendous situation for the family.
I think the police officers in attendance were also doing their best to keep emotions in check.

kennypppppppp · 18/08/2019 16:49

i cried when she hugged the policeman.. just the most shocking murder. her poor family.
the police were amazing.

louise5754 · 21/08/2019 20:43

Hi can anyone explain what the sister and then mum asked before the sister cried and hugged the policeman? Thanks x

MintChocAddict · 21/08/2019 23:54

Louise The sister asked if they'd got all of her, (when they found her) and the police officer said they had Sad

BanditoShipman · 21/08/2019 23:59

I wanted to like this but I couldn’t understand half of it due to the accents, I will try again with subtitles (thanks to pp for that idea)

louise5754 · 22/08/2019 00:26

@MintChocAddict Thank you. I did think of that but didn't the policeman first say he can't guarantee it was her?

louise5754 · 22/08/2019 00:26

Also do we know why he did it?
