Anyone else watching this series? I've only seen episode 1 so far but I think I like it. I really enjoyed Catastrophe and like Sharon Horgan and Aisling Bea. Think it might be a bit of a slow burner but am gonna stick with it.

I've only seen ep.1 but enjoyed it, wasn't laugh out loud funny but still a nice easy watch. I like Aisling, did you see her in that serious programme Hard Sun? I think she is a good actress.

Feckinlego · 10/08/2019 12:48

I fucking loved it! I thought it was so well written and so well acted. Very emotional too, yet funny and quite touching. Can't wait for ep 2.

grafittiartist · 10/08/2019 12:50

Thank you so much- I have just been looking for this on catch up, but couldn't remember it's title!
Good timing!

Blondeshavemorefun · 10/08/2019 13:25

On planner - only recorded it due to SHARON

RozTheSchnoz · 10/08/2019 13:30

Just binge-watched episodes 2 and 3 and the series has really grown on me. I really like the Aine character and her relationship with her sister. Some real laugh out loud moments too. I'm hooked!

Haven't watched Hard Sun; will have to check it out. Thanks for the recommendation!

I binged all the episodes Fri/Sat on the 4od player. Absolutely loved it. It was so funny but so so sad at times. I didn’t know Aisling was such a good actress.

I loved the line about the Forever21 dress being fucking ironic 😂😂😂

LooseAtTheSeams · 10/08/2019 15:06

Binged it all - absolutely excellent! Loved it.

kennypppppppp · 10/08/2019 15:24

loved it too. absolutely brilliant. filling fleabag shaped holes in my life!!

naughtymutha · 10/08/2019 23:54

Just binged it too. It is very good. Really enjoyed it more and more as it went along. It's that silly but dark humour that I like. Enjoy the rest of the series. Wink

RozTheSchnoz · 11/08/2019 08:45

Ok so I watched the rest of the series 🤣
Loved it though. So many tender moments and so many laughs. I really hope there's a second series 🤞

I'm really enjoying this in a bittersweet way. Both the leads are superb.

Inappropriatefemale · 11/08/2019 11:44

I think I’ll have to try and let it grow on me because so far, it’s not that good, I’m just about finished episode 1

MolyHolyGuacamole · 11/08/2019 12:33

Just finished watching. Honestly it's so similar to fleabag, and as I've only just finished watching that (which is way funnier) I found it hard to enjoy it as I kept making comparisons.

Story of 2 sisters, the older of which is a financial success, the younger being a mess. Bit of a tired story line now.

RainIsRaining · 11/08/2019 18:36

I found them both way more likeable than Fleabag.

Benjispruce · 11/08/2019 18:37

Only seen ep 1. Will watch others but wasn't as good as Catastrophe....so far.

Inappropriatefemale · 11/08/2019 19:38

Can’t see it being as good as Catastrophe whatsoever, that was laugh out loud funny right away and Sharon wrote it with Rob, whereas I think the actress, who plays her sister, Aisling something I think, wrote this, or co wrote and she’s clearly not got the same chemistry as S & R.

Isthebigwomanhere · 11/08/2019 19:51

I binged it and loved it but my favourite recent comedy has to be Gameface it's bloody hilarious

LooseAtTheSeams · 11/08/2019 21:38

I don't find it like Fleabag. It seemed to have a lot more to say about mental illness and from a very sincere place.

mizu · 11/08/2019 21:52

Heard an interview on the radio yesterday with Aisling talking about it and have binge watched 3 episodes already.
Having been an ESOL / EFL teacher for 24 years ( and still am) I'm finding the classroom scenes funny. And yes, the forever 21 dress was hilarious.

Cluelessbeetroot · 11/08/2019 22:01

I’m think it is a tiny bit predictable and sometimes the interaction of the 2 sisters comes across as laboured - however loving Aine’s character, excellent portrayal of mental struggles, the way she seems to start crumbling once she finds herself alone is very moving and very realistic.

AnyFucker · 11/08/2019 22:05

.

EarringsandLipstick · 11/08/2019 22:21

I also binge-watched them all & it grew on me.

Aisling Bea is great. I found Sharon Horgan's character a bit jaded at times, she seems to have over-played that role.

The storyline was really touching though, some really poignant moments. Liked it; kind of wished that I hadn't binge-watched.

I also wish these great programmes by Irish writers & actors could be commissioned by Irish TV but I guess it's a money thing? Did notice Irish funding at end of credits I think?

Cluelessbeetroot · 11/08/2019 22:27

Anyone knows where episode 4 was filmed?
With the castle/ruins and the bridge ?

LaBelleSauvage123 · 11/08/2019 23:21

Clueless I was about to ask exactly the same thing! It looked like a beautiful place.
