On planner and will look at it tomorrow, it has good reviews, just got to finish Manifest first.

Blondeshavemorefun · 07/08/2019 08:22

Did anyone watch ?

Yes, i watched it with my 16 year old, big mistake!!! Can only explain that it depressed me very much and I felt anxious throughout. It was very odd and I wouldn't want to binge watch it. Having said that, my 16 year old felt it was reasonably ok (But very near the knuckle)

LoafofSellotape · 08/08/2019 16:38

I'm on episode 3,it is so depressing but I'm invested now so need to keep going. Dear God though, no likeable characters whatsoever.

My 18 year old said "Oh I'd give it a miss mum,it's really rough."

The only good thing so far is that it showed very clearly that porn has no place in teen relationships and is not representative of what is 'normal.'

Oh my though, since when has it been ok to show errect penises on mainstream TV?Shock

AmateurSwami · 08/08/2019 16:40

I’ve binged the entire thing, I adored it. Was blown away by the end scene, won’t spoil it, but it’s set to my favourite Labrinth song

The ending was completely bizarre I thought, it turned into an episode of Glee.

Blondeshavemorefun · 09/08/2019 13:45

I gave up after about 30mins. Thought it would be good

but glad some enjoyed

I hated the first episode, but by episode 3 I'm hooked. I do hate the implication that we know who all the characters are when texts show up on our screen. The music's quite good and how huge is that psycho guy, my goodness.

CocoBlair · 11/08/2019 10:44

Just started watching this...

Bravelurker · 11/08/2019 11:52

I have just finished it and it was pretty good after all. It was very similar to Netflixs 13 reasons in the way that you may think there are no good, pure souls amongst the characters, but in truth they are all deeply flawed and vulnerable as hell.
You end up rooting for the characters you didn't really like and feeling sorry for the really bad ones.
I am a bit of a sap though however.

taylorlynn · 11/08/2019 14:20

I'm on episode four. Nate is absolutely vile he makes my skin crawl . The acting in this is insanely good

tresbe · 11/08/2019 16:35

Definitely wouldn't watch with my kids haha there is a lot of sex and nudity! 100 dicks waving around

carmellax · 12/08/2019 13:22

I am not sure who the show is aimed at because surely young teens should not be watching it's very very graphic and violent! It's like the X rated 13 reasons why with knobs everywhere.
I love the music in it and Zendaya is really amazing in it too

LoafofSellotape · 12/08/2019 13:31

carmellax

Worryingly ds said it was very true to life and that's why it's been such a hit with the teen audience.

taylorlynn · 12/08/2019 13:41

I am in my twenties and my teen years were nothing like on this show! I think parts of it are realistic but maybe the characters should be based in college and not 16/17 year olds in high school who seem to be able to afford the crazy drug habits! Scary if that is what it's like for teens now ShockShock

Bravelurker · 12/08/2019 13:50

I think it's important to watch it if you have children, as it shows so many sometimes extreme examples of modern life for teens.
For many people, the sending nudes of yourself to your boyfriend even though you are underage yourself could (in the US) be classed as distributing child porn is widely unknown.
I fell in love with and wanted to hug so much :Cassie,(her boyfriend) Mckay, Jules and Fez the drug dealer.
All characters that are problematic as hell but have so much love and vulnerability and deep down goodness.

LoafofSellotape · 12/08/2019 13:50

I am nearly 50 and there were that many drugs about back then. 2 of ds's school mates have died due to a drug overdose. I think that part is very real.

carmellax · 12/08/2019 14:35

My childhood luckily wasn't like that any of there's some of it was scary such as the drugs. I do think the relationships between some of them are very realistic. Some of the young girls are treated like meat because of the amount of violent porn they have watched it's very disturbing. I liked Kats character she was great and Cassie was good she reminds me of my friend when we were younger.

CocoBlair · 12/08/2019 14:52

I was going to say it's really unrealistic 😂 shows what I know about the world lol. Nate and his dad are both terrifying

ThailaLove · 12/08/2019 22:57

I enjoyed it until the last episode. Agree with PP it was very Glee which didn't really fit in with the rest of the premise of the show. I know they are going to do season 2 but still wasn't impressed with that

LoafofSellotape · 12/08/2019 23:55

I said to ds that it was like Glee or HSM and he rolled his eyes and have me along suffering look and said "That's the whole point mum, she's feels euphoric when she's high and the rest of her life is so grim"

Ok,son Wink

It just went on too long for me ,a quick burst would've been ok imo.

LoafofSellotape · 13/08/2019 00:27

** gave

courtlee · 05/09/2019 20:54

I thought it was ok. Definite shock value in some episodes.
