I also thought Curtis saying 'cheers to you' was very telling- surely if you saw yourself as part of a couple you would say 'to us' or something similar. He does not see himself as part of any kind of relationship- just gives out bland, generic compliments.

Of course they are natural for god's sake, I didn't state otherwise. My point is I would have preferred my dad to have chosen a classier photo.

Also the way Curtis said 'I don't know what to say' after Maura told him he's perfect was very telling.

Eaudear - you could be right. Either way I think if she was completely disinterested in him she could literally just use the excuse 'not on tv' so maybe she really does like him.

I am still not sure re Curtis and Maura, just that one clip where he says I don't know what to say on it's own comes across like that but watched in the context of the date and how he acts makes me feel like he does like her, or fancy her in the least.

I took the frustration to be just that night with Maura, she said the hideaway was 'fannytastic' so I doubt it was just her doing stuff to him TBH.

I agree that something is odd about him but I just wonder if he is just a bit immature rather than anything more sinister.

Curtis nearly died last night when Maura said she was moving to the UK. He used her for her popularity. She was a willing participant though I think she is quite insecure behind all her talk and he is rejecting her in front of millions of people. It must be so humiliating. She genuinely seems to like him and perhaps he wasn’t expecting that.

There is something really sinister about Curtis.

I felt for Maura on the date. She pours out all these compliments and weirdly seems to fancy him. I think he may be v inexperienced or more likely doesn’t fancy her at all. I think Anna calling him out on his behaviour will have really niggled at him. When he said about them living in different places it felt like a holiday romance saying “of course we will see each other when we get home” for them to never be heard of again. For Curtis it’ll be that professionally he’s too busy to commit to Maura but she’s an amazing young lady.

Just watched last night's episode....boring!

As soon as I saw the preview for last night's show, I thought I'd give it a miss. Reading this thread has been more entertaining!

Tbh I think most of not all of them are on the show for fame/popularity. It could be that Curtis doesn’t want to sleep with people because in his own mind that is taking it too far? He will play the game and then stop. Maybe he doesn’t believe in casual sex/intercourse unless he has real feelings and he won’t go there. The problem is that can be interpreted the wrong way when he is seemingly happy to go so far.

Some of the others are ok with casual sex.

I believe Curtis is playing a game but is pretending to use his moral compass as his get out clause and that is what is causing the confusion for both Amy and Maura. He is using them and as the consequence is deliberate hurt, ultimately he isn’t any better than Jordan, Michael, Tom etc You could argue he is just playing the game where the goal is to stay in as long as possible. As frustrating as Alex was last year, I don’t think he set out to hurt anyone. Maybe Curtis is similar except he is leading the girls on which is something Alex didn’t tend to do.

Curtis did not express any of his feelings towards Maura in that date last night, because he doesn’t feel the same way about her as she does about him and he doesn’t wish to lie to her. Yes, he does think she is an amazing women, yes he does think she’s a beautiful lady, but he doesn’t not find her sexy, he’s not falling for her. Yes I do think he is most probably conflicted in his feelings towards women/men and yes I do think he only has his eyes on the prize money. I definitely think as soon as he realised Amy and himself were not front runners to win as a couple he had to ditch her. Fast.

I switched off half way through last nights episode, found it quite boring. Currently watching season 2 (on ep 15) and wondering if anyone on here watched it at the time? I’m curious to know what the public reaction to Tom / Sophie was? She seems like she feels trapped with Tom and scared to be honest with him or risk upsetting him, he comes across so controlling it actually gives me chills.

I have a feeling that Curtis would rather busy himself with the hole above Maura's lip than the one under.it ...

@ClubSandwich I'm on episode 18, and agree with you completely. Tom literally from day one was controlling and possessive, Sophie spent practically the whole time in there walking on eggshells, trying to avoid upsetting him and having to suffer his moods and sulking.

I think he might just not want to have sex on Telly. Fair enough!

@ILoveYou3000 it’s just awful. When he does the clenched jaw and angry eyes it make me feel really anxious. I googled him last night as I was curious to see if any of his behaviour was called out at the time but I couldn’t really find anything.

I also read that the producers won’t say if a couple had sex unless the couple tell the others themselves.

Obv if they are having sex in a shared bedroom that does not apply.

What I don’t understand is why Curtis can’t commit to the lie - watching Greg and Amber it all felt like a load of bollocks and obviously you would never go on a date at that stage and spaff out all that crap but they got on with the job at hand! Curtis has known Maura a lot longer and should be able to manage a few compliments and shit about the future.

It would have been so fantastic if she had turned on him on the date and fucked the whole thing off. I hate those blood out of a stone guys like Curtis who can barely muster a few crumbs and expect you to be grateful for it.
