Is anyone watching Catch-22?

I’m up to episode 3 atm. I haven’t read the book but think I definitely will now.

Yep. I missed the first few so watched it on All 4 but I've had to start watching it "live" for subtitles because, even with the sound up as high as i dare, I can't hear what anyone is saying. Thoroughly enjoying it, otherwise.

Scheisskopf is so aptly named.

I've downloaded a sample onto my kindle.

I didn't know they were making it but will definitely catch up as it's a great book

I started watching it but have now decided on principle that if they dont care enough to record the dialogue properly I can only imagine they dont think it that important!

What is strange is that it is always the ones with the over blown budgets.

On a totally different forum someone said it is because a supposedly modern microphone can be directional and operated by one person they use they and got rid of all the (I think they were called) boom operators who individual recorded each character.

Not sure if that is it, but what drives me made is not only the low level they are recorded at, but if you turn up the volume try and hear, then any incidental music, let alone sounds effects are then so loud they blow you out of your chair.

Yes, a couple of episodes. Seems ok. Not sure I'll continue with the whole series.

I'm still a bit tearful after watching that. All these wasted lives...

I really enjoyed it, lots of those episodes have stayed with me after watching them. I’ve had the book sat unread on my bookshelf for ages so I’m going to dig it out and read it.

I thought it was v good. I read the book a long time ago. Funny at times. Desperately sad.

Really well done. Flying incredibly authentic ( my parents, uncles were WWII flyers) Loved scene where Schiesskopf inspects yoyo’s testicles. Well written, well-acte. Clooney brilliant as always.

I don’t know why it hasn’t been more popular to be honest.
