Anyone watch? It's really good

I'm watching, these tribes fascinate me, I often wonder who has the better life, them or us!

Shimy · 10/07/2019 14:24

Oh I missed this. Winder if it can be watched on iPlayer.

purpleme12 · 10/07/2019 14:31

It's on 4od.

It's fascinating to see how they live.

The scene with the baby monkey clinging on was so sad.

Next week's looks a bit shocking

I had to turn off when they showed the baby monkey on its mum.
But I'm certain they found it another mummy monkey and it lived happily ever after. End of.

I'm much more of a wuss since my having my family and the monkey reminded me of my baby girlGrin albeit a fair amount hairier.
Very good show though

kallilla · 10/07/2019 16:29

Yes I found the baby sad, but, we'd eaten pork for dinner..............

purpleme12 · 14/07/2019 20:33

Yes but it was the fact that it had a baby clinging on that made it particularly sad for me

I like these sorts of documentaties, but I found that the circumcision scene was really, really hard to watch.

Sux2buthen · 19/07/2019 21:29

I'm recording it but that post you just made has not made me keen to watch Blush

Deathraystare · 20/07/2019 06:47

I feel sorry the way the pygmy tribe are treated by the other lot who think they are inhuman.

purpleme12 · 20/07/2019 23:51

I couldn't understand when that person said he owned a family. You can't own people

Probably just a phrase they use, purple, meaning obscured in translation.

I would have found the baby monkey difficult too.

GrimDamnFanjo · 21/07/2019 01:25

It's a fascinating series and I'm enjoying learning about their culture.

Deathraystare · 21/07/2019 19:05

They see the pygmies as lower than them. I think they own the land or think they do.

Dowser · 21/07/2019 22:10

Me tooheulog

Deathraystare · 24/07/2019 08:05

Very depressing at the end when you know the road is coming. Yes they may be able to sell more stuff but they will be royally ripped off and exploited, patronised and lose valuable hunting grounds and the prey will vanish deeper into whatever forest is left.

Worrying.

Skyejuly · 30/07/2019 22:17

I just cried for that baby monkey :(
