Fizzy Grin to Leconte and the umpire stumbling.

And Mansour is clearly going for an early Father Christmas look Grin

Not sure Tracey was too impressed with Serena needing therapy after the US Open Hmm

kazzaD66 · 09/07/2019 22:13

Private never that fond of those shrimps. Black Jacks, fruit salads, chocolate mice and sherbert fountains were more up my street Grin

Fizzywinegum · 09/07/2019 22:32

Mmm fruit salads, not sure about Black Jacks. Haribo Tangfastics - yum!

PrivateIsles · 09/07/2019 22:52

Fizzy just no with the Tangfastics Grin

I have got toffee eclairs but someone Hmm has already been into them. Typical!

magimedi · 10/07/2019 07:37

Love the shrimps but hate toffee eclairs.

Will send you all a link to my You Tube predictions when I've set it up! Grin

Zoeputthatdown · 10/07/2019 07:51

Am sure you'll have a great day today, Private.

magimedi · 10/07/2019 08:12

Meant to say havea great day, Private. I'll wave to you if I see you on the TV!

Raahh · 10/07/2019 08:45

Private have a great day- so, we are looking out for a woman dressed as a Cabbage white butterfly, with a castle on her head, eating toffee eclairs? That's right?

All to be streamed on Mystic Magi's You Tube channel. Grin

I kept hearing clips of Konta on the radio news during the school run this morning. Pricklier than a hedgehog. And apparently quite sweary at the end of her match- which I missed Grin.

Looking forward to today. Got the red button all primed and ready for action Grin.

I do think Pella/Busta Gut could be the match of the day. Not too lengthy though- since Rafa is on after. I'm hoping Goffin plays the match of his career.

I'm always nervous about Rafa. He has been playing very well though.

Keith has been playing surprisingly well, considering grass is not really his surface.

It's very damp and grey here- I hope the weather is better down there. I haven't seen the lovely Carole yet, to hear her thoughts on the matter (last thing I want is Rafa under a Roof).

OP posts:
magimedi · 10/07/2019 08:56

Weather definitely better down here. I reckon they might just get away with no roof.

Will be flicking between the Bust-a-gut & the Goffin matches.

You will hear the scream of joy all over the UK if Goffin wins!

Raahh · 10/07/2019 09:09

magi that's good. It's freezing in Manchester. Grin

I've got to take the dog out- it looks like it is going to rain, dh is working for home, and has a conference call at 9.30. The dog cannot be in the house when that happens, as he will bark. Grin.

I can see I'm going to get wet.

OP posts:
Raahh · 10/07/2019 09:12

I would love it if Goffin won.

He's only beaten him once though, and that was on clay, in 2017 when things weren't exactly going well for Novak.

But - upsets do happen. I have everything crossed for Keith and David today . (jinxes both at once).

OP posts:
PrivateIsles · 10/07/2019 09:53

Raahh you've described me to a T!! Grin

We're just getting into London now - looking a bit grey but no rain, touch wood. Will definitely give you all a wave once we're there!

I'm hoping Goffin plays the match of his life as well - he has beaten Djok once before but not at a Slam - definitely a bit different.

Martina's veterans doubles is TBA today so hoping to catch that as well.

kazzaD66 · 10/07/2019 09:55

Just had a route march around the next village (the views are much nicer than our village) after school drop off. Got very hot towards the end especially when the sun came out, so I hope you don't get wet Raahh Smile

Have a fab day private.
Try not to heckle Cock and Rog. We don't want you being thrown off Centre Court - although at least we'd get to see you Grin

Raahh · 10/07/2019 10:26

Well- turns out looks can be deceiving and it was actually a lot warmer than I expected on my walk.

The dog tried to follow a squirrel up a tree Hmm. He's not very bright.

Grin at the thought of Private getting chucked off court.

I've decided that outfit sounds like something a person would wear to do the London marathon in. So , if AC was ever planning on taking part, we could send him ideas.Grin.

I was just telling dh about the Konta match, and getting cross about the lack of any real mention of her opponent yesterday, in the post match discussion. I said it's a shame I have never got to grips with twitter, or I would tweet the BBC. He has said it's a good thing really, and I must never get the hang of twitter, as I would probably get myself arrested.

He may have a point. Grin.

JaneJeffer · 10/07/2019 10:42

I don't have Twitter because I would probably get banned straight away. Could be fun for a while though. Maybe I'll make one next week when I'm feeling irritable without my tennis fix.

Have fun Private

Raahh · 10/07/2019 10:47

I did sign up to Twitter, right when it first started, so I do have an account. But I can't 'work' it. Grin.

I started to watch the repeat of TAW, and found the Serena overload nauseating. I also don't get why they did the 'Legends' thing of her with Alicia Keys (that got on my nerves too). I thought to be a 'legend' you had to be Rod Laver, or dead?

Grin
OP posts:
JaneJeffer · 10/07/2019 10:51

I left the room when that tribute thing came on. I don't understand why they always have to have people fawning over her. Why don't they get Maria or Naomi to chat about her for a change? (Is there an evil smile emoji?)

Raahh · 10/07/2019 10:54
Grin

It's a bit like the Murray 'obituary' in Melbourne.

Maybe they are expecting her to retire.

And funnily enough, considering it is meant to a 'series' about legends I have only seen a Serena one too many times. I can't watch it all the way through though.

OP posts:
Raahh · 10/07/2019 11:00

I'm just watching the end of TAW.

I'm sorry, bringing up the US open now just makes it all about Serena again. She's not apologetic, at all. Therapy, ffs. It was a very ugly, uncomfortable incident. Horrible for Naomi. Tracy's face said everything.

Raahh · 10/07/2019 11:01

What on earth is Mac on now.

He is likening the tennis to moon landings.

OP posts:
Raahh · 10/07/2019 11:04

Sadly , the final will not coincide with the anniversary of the actual moon landings. That is next Tuesday, iirc. Grin

Zoeputthatdown · 10/07/2019 11:04

That was a bit, er, phallic?!

Raahh · 10/07/2019 11:06

Zoe I suppose it was! Grin

John was getting excited.

God knows what he will be like by Sunday.

😅

Fizzywinegum · 10/07/2019 11:23

Can’t watch at the minute so just keeping up with this thread - will hopefully get home in time to watch Rafa - I need the Pella/Busta Gut match to be a long one!

Hope that Goffin causes an upset against Djok. Maybe today will be the day that Keith fulfils his potential (or maybe not!)

Have fun Private - don’t get arrested Grin
