Welcome one and all Tennis

OP posts:
megletthesecond · 05/07/2019 20:11

DS is giving me looks because I'm making anxious whiny noises watching this.

bookbook · 05/07/2019 20:11

I have been too busy watching to post , but wondering if both the women are getting tired now , and dropping into default strokes .
I will hold my hand up - 99% of the time I love cooking , baking etc. I do lots all the time and freeze a lot , so I can just chuck something in the microwave when I don't feel like it though

OOOH - match point!

Raahh · 05/07/2019 20:11

Heather Watson is through, with Henri Kontinen. That has been a good partnership.

The80sweregreat · 05/07/2019 20:12

Go go coco!

ZoSanDesu · 05/07/2019 20:12

Wow!

bookbook · 05/07/2019 20:12

well, she has done it! Great !

Zoeputthatdown · 05/07/2019 20:13

Outstanding.

The80sweregreat · 05/07/2019 20:13

She really did win that match!

Raahh · 05/07/2019 20:13

wow, what an effort.

I do feel for Hercog, though, losing from match points.

Whisky2014 · 05/07/2019 20:14

I'm annoyed i cashed out my bet earlier. Would have made 45 quid!

Well done gauff!

The80sweregreat · 05/07/2019 20:14

Her opponent must be so gutted.
Poor thing.
Tennis is cruel

megletthesecond · 05/07/2019 20:15

book they did look like they were getting tired. I hope that girl rests well all weekend.

Raahh · 05/07/2019 20:15

It's true, poor Herog really did have an entire stadium against her.

Halep can be vulnerable in big matches. So she could be in with a chance (though I do still have to root for Halep).

Fizzywinegum · 05/07/2019 20:15

Wow - amazing comeback - do feel sorry for Hercog though. Pretty amazing for a 15 year old.

bookbook · 05/07/2019 20:15

Did I hear say that it was Tim Henman that arranged a wild card for her? Good on him , and her for stepping up

JaneJeffer · 05/07/2019 20:15

They will keep her there all night!

The80sweregreat · 05/07/2019 20:17

She surely has a glittering career in front of her? She was very cool.
Let's hope it's not a' flash in the pan'

JaneJeffer · 05/07/2019 20:18

Well done Coco.

BlackWomanHere · 05/07/2019 20:18

Yaaaas!!

mogloveseggs · 05/07/2019 20:19

Cheers @Raahh
My phone died at the end!
But she won! So chuffed for her!

RebootYourEngine · 05/07/2019 20:21

Well done Gauff. She fought back and played well.

Dionn · 05/07/2019 20:23

Well done coco! one to watch super talent!

Raahh · 05/07/2019 20:26

Felix is really not having a great time- but Humbert has been playing very well indeed.

There is not a lot in the way of histrionics and fist pumping, (not always a bad thing) It's been a great effort from Humbert, since he was the underdog coming into it.

Raahh · 05/07/2019 20:48

And Humbert is through. He seems like a nice bloke.

So, another Next Gen player that they have built up ridiculously lately- has gone out. But he's only 18, and really lovely- so I think he will bounce back from this.

LenoVentura · 05/07/2019 20:53

Hmm, so Dirty Nick was motivated only by spite and couldn't sustain it once Rafa had slapped him down. Good riddance.
