Raahh Wink
I was going to say the same thing about Boris.
I certainly was NOT happy when he beat the delectable Stefan! (Although at least he couldn't beat him in 1988 and 1990 Grin

Fizzywinegum · 05/07/2019 11:39

Still feeling a bit discombobulated today - managed to oversleep and feeling a bit out of sorts.

They had a phone in on Radio 5 about Nick Kyrgios this morning - fortunately I didn’t hear any of it. Why aren’t they talking about Rafa?

Today’s tennis does look a bit dull - looking forward to seeing Cori Gauff later on.

JaneJeffer · 05/07/2019 11:41

Those schoolgirls look so cute in their little hats.

PrivateIsles · 05/07/2019 11:41

the delectable Stefan Grin great description.

I'm watching Sakkari v Svitolina. It started well but Sakkari has inexplicably suddenly gone to pieces.

Raonic/Opelka puts me in mind of Gulliver's travels.

Zhang is getting the better of Wozniacki. Or Woe-zniacki as Chandra calls her. Caroline is complaining that hawk eye isn't working properly.

Raahh · 05/07/2019 12:24

Jane I have come to the conclusion that the US commentators deliberately mangle players' names. They are with other people pronouncing the names differently- but get them wrong all the time- like Mac with 'Djoke -o-vic'.

MyGastIsFlabbered · 05/07/2019 12:30

Wozniaki's about to lose I think

Raahh · 05/07/2019 12:42

I need not have worried about Raonic.

But Opelka needs to stop eating his towel.

Raahh · 05/07/2019 12:45

Poor Caroline. Another one that just can't seem to play consistently from one tournament to the next, really.

Which is true for so many of the big names in the women's game, I think.

Zoeputthatdown · 05/07/2019 12:47

Good afternoon all.

Raahh · 05/07/2019 12:51

Afternoon! Zoe

Well done, Milos!

Zoeputthatdown · 05/07/2019 12:58

Hope your keyboard bears up, Raahh!

JaneJeffer · 05/07/2019 13:00

Wimbledon need to raise those ceilings.

Raahh · 05/07/2019 13:04

It's annoying me, Zoe- keeps freezing. I am merrily typing away, and and then it just stops.

Apparently, Anderson is very tall too.

Who knew? Grin

Raahh · 05/07/2019 13:09

A quick look around the courts- Paire is looking very smart- not wearing a hat today. His beard is looking very lovely.

Grin.

PrivateIsles · 05/07/2019 13:11

I like Pella. He's the one who beat Cilic last year so he has got that going for him - against a big server on grass.

OP posts:
Raahh · 05/07/2019 13:11

(He wears his collar up, but it does not annoy me like it does with Nick- as it just looks French and classy on him somehow Grin)

PrivateIsles · 05/07/2019 13:12

What about the Beardy Bunch? Are they in residence?!

I have to go out for pretty much the rest of the day now Hmm

Will be keeping up with your updates! Tennis

OP posts:
Raahh · 05/07/2019 13:14

And Busta Gut is currently ahead against Khachanov.

I do like both- but have a soft spot for Bautista.

Raahh · 05/07/2019 13:15

I haven't spotted the Beardy Bunch yet Grin. I hope they are there. Paire is doing very well. 2sets -1 up . A very abrupt, no nonsense umpire.

Hope he has enough racquets.

PrivateIsles · 05/07/2019 13:17

Perhaps they're too busy playing Scrabble or whatever it was!

OP posts:
Raahh · 05/07/2019 13:18

Vesely has been described as a 'big powerful unit'

that doesn't really sound like a compliment.

JaneJeffer · 05/07/2019 13:20

My boys describe big, strong men as a unit Grin

Raahh · 05/07/2019 13:42

I'm not really down with the kids, Jane - my dc always roll their eyes at me. Grin

I'm sure round these parts, unit used to to be an insult meaning 'dumb'.

But everything seems to mean the opposite of what you think, these days (now I sound like my gran againGrin).

Raahh · 05/07/2019 13:56

ooh, good win for Paire.
