no, but loving Stray Cats and Huey Lewis so far Smile

mrwalkensir · 07/07/2019 22:11

so good....

Girliefriendlikescake · 07/07/2019 22:20

I really enjoyed it!

Although as with the other two series I can't believe even in the 80s parents were so lax that their kids would disappear for the whole weekend and no one would notice 🤣

Also what happened to the Byers dog?! He seemed to vanish after series 1.

Also also I found it a bit strange that there was barely any mention of elevens mum this series, surely she would still want to see her?

Other than those minor qualms I loved it 😁

gotmychocolateimgood · 08/07/2019 14:29

I want to see more of the children with numbers as names!

This series is so much fun. Best yet.

I've watched it over last 24 hours
I loved it but did feel it a big ridiculous the town was invaded by Russians who've built an immense underground facility and no one noticed

Also no one but that group of characters noticed all the weird shit going on especially when the HUGE flayed chased them in the car for some time not a single car went past? Really?

God I love Hopper Blush

Girliefriendlikescake · 08/07/2019 23:00

Yeah I thought that! But I think reality is sort of suspended when you watch Stranger Things 🤣

gotmychocolateimgood · 09/07/2019 12:34

I was prepared to suspend disbelief for this. It was very deserving 😁

My 11 year old asked me last night if we could watch this together, haven't had a chance to look at it yet. Is it suitable, what's it all about?

gotmychocolateimgood · 09/07/2019 14:51

Not if you start from series 1. Child abuse and disturbing scenes.

JurassicShay · 09/07/2019 15:30

@gotmychocolateimgood thank you, that will be a no then!

Girliefriendlikescake · 09/07/2019 20:20

My 13 yo has watched it all, 11yo is still too young imo, scary scenes, lots of blood and gore, violent scenes etc.

BogstandardBelle · 10/07/2019 21:16

Depends on the 11 yr old. I think series 3 is a lot lighter and a bit more cartoony than the first two. There is zero sex and the big bad is a lot less scary than the demo dogs if season two. My 11yr old has been shown a few episodes at his friends house.

Londonlassy · 10/07/2019 21:19

Loved it. I think it’s the best season yet

UpToTheRigs · 10/07/2019 21:35

Wow, I found s3 way more scary and intensely violent than s1 or 2. I read the episodes for s3 are all rated 15 and I can see why - serious gore and heavy violence.

BogstandardBelle · 10/07/2019 22:11

the Russian storyline is a bit silly, but it fits with the time I guess.

I thought the Demodogs in S2 were far scarier than the big lumbering monster thing in S3. But S3 was very funny, and I bawled my eyes out at the end (we’re ok for ?)

Sooooo.. what about S4? I’m predicting a Dark El - like Dark Willow in Buffy...

gotmychocolateimgood · 11/07/2019 10:06

Ooh dark El would be fab. MbB is so beautiful. I'm so happy for her character that El got to be pretty this series (overinvested!)

Joyce needs to be happy in series 4. She has suffered enough!

Keep the 80s pop culture references coming, Duffer Brothers. They are all brilliant!

God yes, I was traumatised by the ending and cried my eyes out.

OP posts:
theneverendinglaundry · 12/07/2019 09:22

The ending dragged on a little bit for me. But I really enjoyed this season.

But who is the American in the cells at the very very end? The Russian guy said 'no, not the American' didnt he?

gotmychocolateimgood · 12/07/2019 10:54

There is a ladder!!

Stranger Things series 3 starts today!
OP posts:
BogstandardBelle · 12/07/2019 12:08

The internet reckons that it’s Hopper... but we didn’t see Murray after the big explosion either I don’t think?

theneverendinglaundry · 12/07/2019 12:29

No, we saw Murray just after it happened, he asked Joyce where Jim was.

LADDER!!!!!

BogstandardBelle · 12/07/2019 12:37

Scrap that theory then, has to be Hop.

RosemarysBush · 15/08/2019 11:50

I got so excited when I realised Suzie was gonna save the day! And cried when they sang never ending story.

RosemarysBush · 15/08/2019 11:51

We recon it’s hopper in the Russian prison. Even more now I’ve seen that ladder, thanks!

tellmewhenthespaceshiplandscoz · 16/08/2019 20:13

God I've bloody loved every series. Apart from some silly bits which I can forgive I think it's so well written. I root for every character (especially Dustin and his foul language!) and it makes me so nostalgic. 11 year old DD also loves it and went mad when she saw that ladder pic Grin

I also really want Joyce to find happiness and not have it cruelly taken away.

Aaahhh the Never Ending Story part was wonderful. We were on holiday a few weeks ago and heard loads of teens singing it!
