Can't see a thread up for ST3 yet. Checking in ahead of tomorrow

We managed another couple of episodes last night - absolutely loving it, best so far I reckon. And I'm loving Robin too.

I'm just starting episode six so will be finished today,.

I wish it was longer say 10 episodes or the finale was feature length.

I'm hoping it will ramp up as it's not dramatic as the previous seasons yet!

On episode 5, but I'm just wondering why they've made Hopper into such a dick? It's been a while since I watched the last series but I'm sure he didn't used to be such a shouty macho twat.

Binge watched it. Omg. Amazing.

Am up to epi 3 and I get that Hopper is protective of El but I agree he has turned into super dick.

Hopper is shouty and bumbling because he's panicked and shit at expressing emotions. In the first series it was easier for him to keep calm because he had nothing to lose and didn't care whether he lived or died. Now the stakes are higher for him and he isn't a lone wolf anymore- he has to work with other people who have their own opinions, and is always aware that they may be killed too.

He's being unpleasant to Joyce though. I don't like that trope of "He's only being nasty to you because he likes you".

Anyway, as to the rest - I like the somewhat lighter touch and the additional humour, even though the grim bits are more grim than ever. I do wish Dustin was still hanging around with the other kids, but I do love Erica doing it for America

I liked that as well. Mumsnet wouldn’t be happy though if it was a bunch of dads leering at a teen female lifeguard though.

I’m halfway through and thoroughly enjoying it. The quality is absolutely there. The end of episode 3 was iconic, reminded me of The Hatch episode of lost with the brilliant use of music.

Planning on watching today, just marking place!

I can’t wait for everyone to watch the whole series so I can rave about certain bits 😁

One bit in particular involving Dustin and another person which is just the best thing ever. As soon as you see it you’ll know what I mean 😁

Just googled Billy... he was born same year as my brother so 8 years younger than me he looks older!

I watched the first three of this series with some friends last night (got majorly ribbed as my boyfriend looks like Mike), a good start so far. We’re waiting until Monday night before we watch anymore.

We finished it tonight so I can hop over to the spoiler thread.
