Yesterday I was pretty sure Curtis was playacting his ‘head being turned’ for the screen time /story arc. Today I’m not so sure but either way I think he’s a twat. I’ve said before I really really don’t get the hate towards Amy, she’s not a ‘bunny boiler’ or a ‘bully’ as keeps being stated, she doesn’t come across as the most engaging and likeable in the villa maybe, but she’s far from the worst. I said at the time she was OTT about Lucie and shouldn’t have gone on about it to everyone, but she’s not done much wrong apart from that and, even if Curtis actually finds her unbearable the fault still lies with him for letting her think otherwise. And Curtis has done the whole ‘exclusive/half-girlfriend/no one is going to turn my head’ routine which he absolutely shouldn’t have done if he wasn’t sure. I’d hate another situation like Wes and Laura last year, where Amy gets blamed for it when it was HIM being full on and making promises. Except it would be worse as Laura at least had the gumption to pick herself back up, I don’t think Amy does.
I really hope Jordan couples with a new girl. Anna’s obviously going to take Ovie back and I was starting to quite like Jordan and his grafting boots so I’d like to see him have a chance with someone else.
I don’t really know whether I want Michael to turn or stick with Amber. Be interesting to see either way I think.
I just don’t think they’ve got the mix of people right this year. There’s very few I actually warm to, and apart from the girly clique they don’t seem to like each other that much or have much fun together. The boys in particular- I can only compare to last year and I know that people say it wasn’t a good series - but even then I felt like the boys had a genuine camaraderie and had fun pissing about together, plus we’re rooting for each other. I don’t get that sense this year - despite the staged conversations declaring undying brotherly love - they don’t seem to gel well at all. And they’re pretty dull as a group - and from what I’ve seen of the new people, I don’t think any of the Casa Amor survivors are going to improve the dynamic either. I know you see a bit more fun and relaxed stuff in unseen bits, but even there I don’t always get the sense that many of them are actually enjoying themselves much. Apart from Maura, she has a ball god love her.
